Hmmm, as I say, that is certainly curious.

Going by the image and your description it might be the stearic acid re-crystallising, but this categorically shouldn't happen due to the saponification of all ingredients. You're very welcome to return it to me (we'll cover your postage on proof of receipt) and I'd be more than happy to examine it for you and try and get to the bottom of . We can then take it from there Happy2.

May I have the batch number, please?

Kindest regards,

Kerry.

Many thanks,

Kerry, here are a couple of pictures of the Star Noir jar that I have, and in which I noticed some variation in consistency. The serial number is visible in the second one.

(As a side note, this was one of the unfortunate soaps that had a strong and slightly off-putting scent to begin with, about which we were in touch several weeks ago. I left the lid off the soap for over a month, and feel that the scent has stabilized and is now the scent the soap was intended to have all along.)

I happened to go through some of my other soaps just recently, and noticed that a somewhat similar texture variation was present in one other soap I have, a RazoRock soap, as seen here.

That soap has not yet been used, and as said, the texture in my Star Noir hasn’t really presented any issues, but let us know what you make of this. (Perhaps the stearic acid you already mentioned?)

The quick answer is I'm uncertain as to why the soap might behave like that as it could be a number of factors, e.g. its cure (since Dec 2016 we've cured for 10 weeks; prior to this it was 4-weeks), the composition of its fragrance profile and use of differing aroma-chemicals / fragrance oils / essential oils, storage / transit, conditions, temperature, etc.

Please continue to use them and if you're unhappy with either, please send them back and I will investigate further for you. Very happy to take it from there for you both.

Please let me know how you get on / how the soaps shave.

With kindest regards,

Kerry.

Thanks, Kerry. I’ll keep using the soap and report back if there is anything of concern. And by the way, congratulations on reaching the one-year mark, and all the best to you going forward!

Hi everyone,

We thought you might like to know that on 31/05 we'll be releasing our newest addition to our core range of shaving soaps.

Imperial Rum is our interpretation of the ubiquitous bay rum profile and ours is made up the following scents:
west indies bay, allspice, lime, sweet orange, ylang ylang and benzoin.

Have a look at its label and let me know what you think. We've tried something different here and utilised a metallic effect in the coppery aspect of the octopus. The rest of the label is of a matt finish and the two combine really well.

Well, I’d imagine that the general consensus is that the label is simply stunning. Packaging matters (at least it does to me), and it’s clear that you feel the same way. Whether this is Sarah’s design or yours, Kerry (or both) — proper dues! Happy2
