At first glance I couldn't understand the graphics and then yikes...

I got their Oberon, and Obsidian those are beautiful labels and I find them appealing, but I'll nope on this one.

Who knew, Halloween in wet shaving can be very interesting.. Smile  Confused

I don't particularly care for the "shock value" labels. I have no problem with mythical stuff, the devil, or the like, but I found one of Barrister & Mann's labels so off-putting that I had no interest in the soap. I believe it was a skull with knives going through it. Now, things only seem to be getting worse. Halloween should be no excuse for suggestive bloodied bodies, male or female, horrific death and the like. It is certainly nothing I want to see at 6:30 in the morning when I am about to shave. Obviously, some of you will disagree and soap makers are doing whatever they can to get a step ahead. However, the B&M clever and beautiful glissant formula topographical maps in the shapes of animals tied to the scents proves that a label can be eye catching and help move sales without being offensive. Stirling Soaps' simple green, black, and white labels are instantly recognizable and let me know what product I am using. To each his own, I guess.

I also have little time for "shock value" meant to be "shock value." P&B is a UK firm and gruesome Jack the Ripper images may be more acceptable in England. The label does have historic and artistic values.

With that said, I am not sure I like the scents (most probably would like) and if purchased, the soap would be stored in a cabinet. However, the "rebel in me" does have some urge to purchase because of the controversy.

CAnt wait to get mine! I'm loving imperial bay rum and obsidian. Their labels are top notch art work and marketing. I want to display their labels like art!

I ordered the soap and am excited to try it. Not offended by the labelling or theme. To each their own though. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you do, order two.
