This razor is an excellent example of not having to spend a fortune on hardware to get a great shave. Obviously, there are many differences between this and razors that cost much more, but we won't go into that here. From the get-go, loading the blade was pretty easy. Putting it in and seating it right, the alignment was pretty much solid. You may have to do a touch of fiddling, but not much. I also do this occasionally with some other razors that cost more money, so it's really not a deal breaker for the price. It's a good looking razor, which is why I bought it in the first place. I think it looks good and the plating is good. Certainly for the price point there are no complaints. Picking it up and holding it, it definitely doesn't have a "high-end" or "premium"feel to it. Nor should it for the sub-$20 price point.

On to the shave!!!

Right off the bat I liked the feel. It has enough that I feel like I'm shaving, but I don't feel that it's overly aggressive at all. Obviously, this can vary from person to person, but for me I like it. I would definitely say it's crossed over the medium point in leaning more towards the aggressive side. But it's definitely not the most aggressive razor out there. I will say, what I think is important, is that the efficiency is very high. If you're in a hurry and don't have time to do multiple passes, one will definitely get you out the door. I found myself very close to a BBS shave after doing 2 passes. I do WTG and ATG with some touchups and buffing. I would say the efficiency on this is probably close to my Karve SB E plate. I usually do two passes under my nose, and with both of these razors I only needed one. I did end up with one Nick, which I'm sure is my mistake and not the razor. Sometimes I can be a little overzealous. Other than that, it was smooth and irritation free. I'm very happy with my results after two passes. It really paired well with the Nacet blade.

All in all, I would have no problems recommending this razor. It's got a nice little bite, and it will give you a great shave for not a lot of money.

Yes, it does shave nice and has a little heft. The efficiency is definitely very high as well.
Though I do have some aluminum and titanium razors, I do like razors that have a little heft to them.

Excellent!!! I have to say I really enjoyed this shave. The Pearl definitely shaved above its weight class. So to speak.
