It's Finally Here Folks, Pareidolia!

Scent Profile: Mysore Sandalwood, Sage/Patchouli Hydrosol, Oakwood Absolute, Benzoin Resin, Hedione & Artemisia Essential Oil (Wormwood).

Let the curious emails and PMs stop! Lol, that's right folks the day is finally here. For the few that don't know what I am talking about, I apologize...and allow me to explain.

Since November of last year I have been randomly selecting outgoing orders and including samples of my latest mysterious, whimsical concoction, Pareidolia! The feedback & fanfare have been overwhelming...but the timing was never right to release it...Until Now!

Mysore Sandalwood: Deep, Rich, Sweet, Woody, Buttery, Creamy, & Balsamic. Considered The Best variety of Sandalwood in the world.

Artemisia: Best known form is Artemisia absinthium, (Grand Wormwood or Absinthe Wormwood), which was a key ingredient in the alcoholic drink Absinthe made notorious in the 19th and early 20th centurys by writers and artists. In perfuming, Artemisia herba/alba imparts a Green, Cool, Slightly Camphoraceous scent.

Oakwood Absolute: The quintessential wood that vintners utilize to bring flavor and color into a bottle of wine through the use of oak barrels or chips. It was once thought that these barrels were used to extract oakwood absolute. This may have been true at some point, but today this exquisite oil comes from virgin wood that is usually a byproduct from the local lumber industry. Rich smoky wood, reminiscent of whiskey, with oaky vanilla undertones.

Benzoin Resin: Benzoin has been used for centuries in Asia and India as an incense and perfume, truly mystical, magical, heady stuff. Soft, sweet, warm, vanilla-like.

What's with the name Doug?

Lol, what is with the name? Pareidolia is a fascinating phenomenon that all of us hairless monkeys experience every now and again...yet no one know the name for it. I mean, if Deja Vu is the salt on the table of human existence, Pareidolia would definitely be the pepper!

Pareidolia (/pærɪˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus, usually an image or a sound, by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists (e.g. in random data).

Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the Man in the Moon, hidden messages within recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds, and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans.

If anything, we experience this much more than Deja Vu. So often it becomes an inside joke with ourselves, delivering chuckles daily. In short, we see faces (and things) that are not there everyday!

I'd love to hear what you see in the Lather created by Pareidolia. Done right, this could be the beginning of a holy pilgrimage my the masses to your shave den!

I am very, VERY Pleased with how this blend came out and I have a good feeling this will be worn by many this Spring into Summer evenings!

Shave On & THANK YOU for Your Patience...Stay Groovy!
