I use Schick Proline’s in the Vector which makes it super smooth in similarity to the Paradigm with the Feather Super. I would say (just my opinion) that both of these razors have identical efficiency and smoothness with my preferred blades in each. The Vector is a bit more nimble around my face because of the head size but I absolutely LOVE both of these razors!

is the Vector as mild as the Paradigm SE? With the SE it is so safe to use; I rarely if ever nick myself with it. It is great since it is so efficient yet mild.

In my experience, the vector is more efficient and just as smooth as the paradigm.

This is such a tough discussion because the razors are different in almost every way but still manages to give exceptional shaves. One is big, clunky but terribly smooth. The other is thin, maneuverable, and terribly smooth. A notable difference ( other than what has been stated) is blade variety. The Vector takes pretty well all the AC blades, while the paradigm takes a small handful. For variety of blades, the vector beats the Paradigm, but the paradigm tames every blade it takes so...a wash. The Vector and the Paradigm are to me, equal in efficiency and smoothness. Not helpful I know, but despite the price difference, you get the same results....but I’m keeping my Paradigm anyway.

What blades doesn't the Paradigm take?  I have used every blade I know of in it and it worked with all of them.  I am confused by your comments that the Vector takes more options.

Check this article:

Quoting from the above:

The SE is designed to work with standard Artist Club blades. It has been tested with Feather Pro, Schick, Kamisori, and Kai. Blade guards will not fit, but the shave is gentle enough that there is no way you will need them. Feather Pro Supers are too thick. I have read of people successfully using them, but it is not recommended. It's a good way of jamming the cap.

Of course as you've read in this thread there are many people using Pro Supers without problem so it's up to you which blades you pick.

I only use Feather Supers in my Paradigm. Never had a issue with a jammed cap. Even Andy revised his statement after he released the razor to let everyone know that the Supers are fine. Think the prototype before the final released model would not fit the Supers.

I have had near jams with AC super and the prolines are very tight. Kia regulars and AC pro work very well with zero fitting issues.

Absolutely you can jam the Pro Supers onto the posts and maybe they will work but then you score the finish and you risk slicing your fingers off trying to pull the cap off.

I’ve read all the post with the claims that the supers work, but they didn’t work on mine, and I now have two packs of supers just siting around since I would not regularly use them in anything...

Hmmm.  I am in the no problem camp with Super's on my Razor. No near jams or particularly tight fit...it just worked as the other blades do. I have tried just about everything and have not had any problem. That said, I think I like Kai's the best but that is because of the shave not the fit. I have never tried guarded Blades of course, but why would you?

They don’t work fine in mine, the top cap is extremely tight

I finally received my Paradigm SE. I gave it a go with a Feather Pro blade and it was just great. It feels much gentler and milder than a Hawk, but seems to be fairly efficient. I only needed to do two passes to be satisfied with the shave.

This razor's design really appeal to me, and the way it works is just genius. This is a keeper for me.
