They are awesome in this razor. 50/50 in relation to smoothness and efficiency. Just an amazing feeling shave. Like Shavemd stated in a previous post, fit is a little tight but, it will work.

I have not yet purchased this razor. I'm a little concerned that the detents might wear overtime or possibly become gummed up so that they don't apply upward Force. We have also seen pictures of wear on the top cap from the detents. Is anyone else concerned about the longevity of this design? Obviously it will work for several years but what it about 10 years? I would want a $395 razor to work for my lifetime. Am I being silly?

$400 is a lot of money for a razor, so I'd say no.
perhaps Paradigm Shaveware can chime in.

You are not being silly and your concerns are exactly why I am quite reluctant to buy this razor.

OP here. Well, I did a lot of checking and had some conversations with Andy and I think I am not worried about this now. I even know the specs of the detents so should I need to ever replace them I could. I placed an order for the razor and I'm joining the club!

I would want a $395 razor to work for my lifetime. Am I being silly?I’m not going to lie, I was thinking the same thing. The reason I bought was mostly because of how comfortable it looked to use, and I was correct in my assumption, it is a very comfortable razor to use do to the weight and the bend on the handle. I was willing to gamble on the longevity aspect and glad I did. I don’t get the closest shave ever but it’s almost BBS and I can just wave the thing around my face recklessly and still get a DFS with no cuts or irritation. On the price well I would have liked if it was cheaper but I don’t regret buying it and if I lost mine, I would buy another if I could.
