The razor made it to me and looks good after the trip all around my state.
I should be able to get a shave in in the morning.

After the Paradigm Salient was done roaming the state it landed here.
Well my first impressions is I really like the blade clamping on this one. It gives a nice smooth shave with a good level of efficiency behind it.
I'll see what the other guys were saying about usage angles, just pick one and it'll will probably be shaving at that angle.
Seems like it likes a steep all the way to shallow angle, and it's still smooth.
I'll get a better feel for it with a couple of more shaves probably.
Yesterday I just did a one pass and out the door so the ole skin was recuperated a little extra.
Against the grain was just a pleasure and I hope that holds out for me.
My difficult area below the right jawline got a pretty good shave without much fuss.
I think I might try different handle tomorrow something a little lighter.
I was thinking good shaving razor like this is all a man really needs.
Personally I've tried a shoebox full of razors that didn't give me that close of shave with the comfort level.

keto I think we all have that shoebox, which periodically gets emptied, and then we just fill it back up again! I hope the Salient finds a secure spot in your rotation.

Andrew sometimes I forget razor makers, soap makers and traditional wet shaving business owner all right there with us all if not more engulfed.

Which I think is a great and it adds to the bit of enjoyment we get out of this.

This morning shave I use a gold PermaSharp blade in the Salient.
I think that blade wasn't quiet as smooth as the Nacet but it was still smooth and pretty efficient. Probably did a little bit more clean up than yesterday but it turned out to be an enjoyable close shave.
Same thoughts about the against the grain pretty much harmless feel, for dragging a sharp DE blade all over my face, nice AGT.
The razor was dismantled and rinsed off with hot water after the shave then dried each piece with a very super soft microfiber cloth.
This is what I do to each and every one of my razors after a shave, excluding vintage injectors.
She's sitting there dismantled and dry on a separate microfiber cloth waiting for the Sunday morning church shave.
It's such a pleasure to use nice shaving gear.

Yesterday was another good shave with the Paradigm Salient.
Really not a lot of relevant intricate details like others post. Mainly a firm held blade made for a smooth shaver.
I did try a nice Stork titanium handle but went back to the handle that came with it, for balance.
I never really think about the balance but I did this time for some reason, go figure.
The shave had some legs to it and held pretty well through the day.[Image: f2ng8wZ.jpg]

Permasharp, Nacet, and BIC Chrome Platinum are pretty close in sharpness. However, BIC is smoother than Nacet, which is smoother than Permasharp Super (gold), at least in my experience. They are all super sharp.

Another very smooth, very sharp blade is Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Black. However, due to the coating on that blade, the first shave is only mid-sharp, but super smooth. As the coating wears off, the blade becomes super sharp, but not quite as smooth. This change in sharpness can catch some shavers off guard. If you expect the change, you can easily deal with it. Just don't think the second shave will be like the first one.

I love using either of those blades as long as the razor is not too aggressive. In an aggressive razor, all of them can draw blood if you are not careful of your technique.

I might see if I can find a bic for tomorrow just because .
The more I use nasit blades the more I like them, mostly.

This mornings shave was with an Astra SP.
I did get a little tug from the Astra the first pass but it wasn't terrible, I got past that point.
The shave went great AGT as expected well.
I'm around 10 hours in at this point[Image: 1MokVfK.jpg]
