Paradigm releasing a new razor

Everyone is different so no judgement here, just stating my experience. I've owned the Athena multiple times and wanted to love it but too mild for me on efficiency. The Ti Diamondback was a much better fit for me for efficiency and comfort, preferred even over the Ares V2 that was generously loaned to me. Also preferred over the Overlander I have used.

first shave this morning with newly DB ti, it has no blade feel at all with my preferred Astra Green blade. It feels like a negative exposure razor, very smooth but need slight pressure. Efficiency wise, it is no where near my other razors, including Lambda Athena. To me, this first shave gave me an impression of auto pilot, daily driver razor. it will probably take more shave to make my final assessment. No! I will not unwind handle 1/2 turn to make it more aggressive. that's ridiculous for a premium razor.

To Dave's point, we are all super different. In my triangle of 3 friends, 2 of us disliked the DB, one guy adores it.

That's why they make chocolate AND vanilla.

I think the DB is significantly more efficient than the Overlander.  I’ve had the Overlander in SS and Al and
every DB made (19, 20 and Ti).  To me it’s not even close.

I haven't tried the Athena or Overlander but have read enough diverse reviews where these two are likened
as equals or close to that.

The DB Ti (which I have tried) is said to be considerably more efficient...and you just confirmed it.

For my tastes, the efficiency that comes with the DB is the bare minimum that would work for me.
I don't think I could live with or love a razor that is less efficient than the DB.

As for unscrewing the handle a bit, I just don't understand that. I am not an engineer, but wouldn't that allow for more blade chatter?
I don't use that method and my shaves have been excellent. YMMV

This hack was discovered by accident and, I suspect, only because I use a nylon washer between base and handle.
The presence of a washer makes the turns a little more "sticky" ...for want of a better word. Making the loosening possible
and tolerable. I have not tried this without a washer and Im not going to either.

It should be noted that DB shaves excellent without loosening the handle....you only may want to try if you have exceeded the
period between shaves by a day or two.

DB is best suited for daily or alternate day shaves...if you have a 3-4 day growth try the loosening trick...I've tried that on a 5 day growth
which is prolific and it worked great...or just use a more efficient razor like Wolfman 1.55

Yep, I remember your post.  I can’t get my armpits BBS with an overlander let alone my face, I can get a DFS.

My post? I've never owned am Overlander. I had the DB Ti briefly but I don't think I ever posted about it's performance. I do own an Athena Ti. I didn't have the DB and Athena at the same time so no side by side.

I've sometimes seen Diamondbacks there.
