The last few posts have been enlightening. Thanks for that gents.

So what is the gap and exposure on the new Ti Dbk?

So, aggression fits where on say on the Karve A through Karve E plate. Just ballpark as I am trying to gauge if this fits my predilections.

Thx in advance boys.

Titanium version is more mild than the stainless steel one, a lot more in my experience. I would say it's very close to the Charcoal Goods Lvl 1. Overall medium efficiency, greater for the stainless steel. Imho. I know each of us has his own experience, but calling this razor medium or even aggressive is more like to have just a very poor technique. It's pretty much impossible to cut yourself and the blade feel is almost inexistent.

TommyCarioca This Ti is close to the Karve C in my opinion.

That sounds plausible...it certainly feels less aggressive than a LVL 2. Never used LVL 1 so can't tell.
But it goes a very close shave as many can testify

There appears to be a iron clasd concensus that this is the THE razor.

I will get in line to buy one in SS - but could this be true?

The PERFECT razor has been built?

Still know idea of exposure and gap.?

Analog Razor? I prefer MILD razors. Any thoughts out there?

Had some great input from Sasco and Neroli. Thanks boys.

I have refrained from commenting on this razor, but since you asked, I didn't care for it. The Ti DB was in and out of my den pretty quick. If I was a daily or every other day shaver, it would be a different story. I expect my razors to remove 3 to 10 days of growth at a time....like a squeegee...on the first pass. I want constant, no question blade feel. I want at least a 10-12 hour BBS. I want to shave today and be able to attend a meeting tomorrow and still be relatively clean. On the off chance I shave two consecutive days, this razor would work, but it would not replace my Athena in that roll.

I understand I am a minority, in more ways than one. The Ti DB was not designed for guys like me. It was designed to appeal to 90% of the community. In that regard, it hit the mark. The razor is quite handsome though.

I don’t think this is the end all to be all razor.  I need to get a couple more shaves in with the titanium version but after my first shave, I prefer the my stainless version.  That is just my opinion and the reason is because I prefer more aggressive razors and the SS version has more blade feel because of the weight.  The Diamondback in both metals is a STELLAR razor but, for me, not the best ever!  Keep in mind, I own a ton of high end razors so it is going up against a lot for me.

george1906, I am curious as to which razor takes your top spot.  I presently have a slight preference for my 2020 Diamondback over the Titanium version but for me this is really splitting hairs (no pun intended).  As you note, both are stellar.

TommyCarioca After reading a number of your posts regarding your preference in razors, I suspect that the Titanium Dback is right up your alley.  I too like a relatively mild razor in a SB configuration.  For me, the Ti Dback is smooth and mild feeling, yet efficient.  As a comparison, when I use my Karve (one of the original brass ones) I like to use A, B and C from my collection of plates AA through F, all SB.  When I use my Timeless Ti razor, I usually choose .68 SB over my .95 SB.
