[Image: 8ewFc91.jpeg]Today was my final shave with the Ti Dback prototype.  Thank you Paradigm Shaveware  for letting me borrow the razor.

I want to say one thing about polish, it looks good the way it is.  I am excited to see the final product but this one, the way it is today, would have passed the polishing test.  Most importantly, it’s bright, uniform and held the tolerances.  Anyone who has had a hand polished razor knows the challenge with did it change the shave?  This does not, it is the same shave as the as machined and the satin prototype.

Now to the shave…

I let 2.5 days of growth build up (for me that is a lot).

I performed a 2.5 pass shave WTG, ATG, then my neck can sometimes handle a 3rd pass from ears to Adam’s apple.

The results were smooth and efficient, absolutely nothing left on my face or neck.  I did not want to compare it to other razors this time, but it’s one of the most enjoyable shaves I’ve had in a while.   The feel of Ti changes the Dback, more than I expected.  Occasionally with the SS I could feel like I over-shaved.  None of that here, I feel BBS but not irritated.

Also, I recently had neck surgery.   Shaving around the raised scar has been difficult.  Today, I went over it with a very light touch.  No weepers, which I have not been able to do.  The weight and balance really make the razor stand out and maneuverable.

I will report back in 12 and 24 hours how long this BBS lasts but I’m anticipating a solid 10-12 hours of BBS and similar DFS.

UPDATE:

@ 12 hours 7:30PM EST - the BBS has subsided to a DFS somewhere between 10-12 hours (no surprise to me with this razor).

@ 24 hours 7:30AM EST - I have almost a DFS.  I could not shave two passes at this point, probably just a one pass if I had to.

Only weeks away now from razors starting to ship!

Shout out to dtownvino for the box pics and the excellent review. Everything, boxes and razors, should be here in a couple of weeks, and I'll begin shipping ASAP. Inside each box will be a small burlap sack to keep the razor from rattling around and to absorb moisture. (Still a good idea to untwist the handle and let things air dry to avoid rusting the blade.) Razors will also ship with a washer.

A big shout out as well to everyone who pre-ordered a razor and entrusted me with this project. Thank you!

I wish you the best with this latest release of yours as the original has been considered by many to be one of the best if not the best razor ever produced regardless of alloy. I've only purchased one razor from your releases and that was the Paradigm SE Ti which I have considered until this day, the smoothest and most comfortably mild razor that my face has experienced and only perhaps being equaled recently by the Le Faulx by Atelier Durdan Razors.

May every DB you have commissioned for production have been spoken for and not only live up to the expectations of those that pre-ordered the razor but, surpasses their shave experience expectations wholeheartedly. I'll be following this thread and reading the shave reports and analysis that will follow in the very near future. If more releases are in the foreseeable future, I'd most certainly entertain the thought of acquiring one pending those reports which I optimistically believe will be positive from the majority if not all.

Truly, good luck and may this be a successful run of DB Ti's and any future endeavors.

@Paradigm Shaveware
Hey Andy good to hear thing are coming together.
Thanks for taking the time to getting on here and touching base.
I had received a used Titanium razor with the blade tea stains so that's a good heads up.
The stain came off of that razor with genle work but I'm sure a blade was left in it.

A blade was definitely left in it. Those tea stains can be a pain to remove. I had an ATT razor back in the day, left a blade in it, and made a pretty good mess.

Good question…
I remember Paradigm Shaveware mentioning that the most cost effective way was to send all presale razors to be polished at the same time, rather than in several smaller batches.
So I’m therefore imagining (hoping..) that he’s getting them all back at the same time, and will now start to inspect, pack and ship them from this week…
And it might take him a few days to get all of them shipped.
