keto  it probably all predates my joining DFS so I don’t know about it.  I just know I encourage him to update everyone on the diamondback Ti and he’s waiting until it’s perfect - probably from past experiences.

Luckily it’s right around the corner.

At 60 grams it’s noticeably different than the SS - it is nimble.

keto You might be referring to the 2019 Diamondback - West Coast Shaving preorders. There were delays, lack of updates, and complaints from customers. Some received their razors, while others didn't receive any information at all.

I am not saying you are making anything up.
It could be that we are saying the same thing but it sounds different.

I just know he hasn’t been on DFS since November 28th and the Diamondback in Ti wasn’t announced until November 20th so I can’t imagine why people would complain about him interjecting a lot into a thread.  He’s quietly working behind the scenes on this one, trying to get us a great product quickly.

I was probably wrong then about the specific thread or the timing, maybe both.
I just remember people complaining about his presence and him saying too much on that thread, which I never understood.

I like Andy and appreciate any Artisan being on here with us.
I can understand why in Artisan wouldn't want to be on or they would need thick skin.

I'm not the most patient guy, but I'm always willing to give people a chance. Water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. People can get caught up in drama and hold grudges, what's the point of holding on to such negative energy? It just makes it harder to turn a new leaf on things. In order to move forward, let's not live in the past.

Let the man do his work, let him take his time to put in the quality, and let the work speak for itself. I have full confidence in the anticipation of our razors, that it will be the best Paradigm DE yet, and in titanium!

I think it was within the past few week maybe before the TI DB was introduced or around  the time, recently.
I'm sorry for bringing  it back up now, but I'm to lazy to read threads to find the comments of a couple of negative people. At that time I felt a bit bad for Andy, then he quit commenting on the Paradigm.

I do think the comments probably stemmed from somebody not being happy about Andy's past situations.

    Thanks Cem and Mike,
Anyway, I'm really glad Mike got to test a razor and found it to be a nice shaver.

Agreed, quality of a nice Titanium razor from Paradigm, and machined by Jake isn't to be rushed.

Someone shared it with me and so I just sent it to you both
Thank you.

You're not mistaken, it was on this thread indeed...and, TBH, I did not take it seriously at all...but Andy may have.
I think the exact context of the comment was that it would be preferred that Jake did all the talking
and product updates while Andy stayed on the sidelines keeping commentary to a minimum...something
like that. And that is exactly how it has come to pass.

In hindsight, we can speculate as to why that was said...but as someone a few posts above said, it's
water under the bridge...and not worth exhuming...which is how I tend to view it now as well.

The Yates Vlog has made it clear that the razors exist and I think they look very nice from a machining perspective,
even to an untrained eye like mine. In this case I would rather the finished product do the talking rather than
Andy.

If you saw the raw “as machined” parts in person you would understand why they need more finishing.  They look pretty good to start with but there are small burrs and sharp edges which are noticeable during a shave.

You could at a minimum tumble them and that will remove that feeling.  Polishing or bead blasting also accomplishes this and makes the shave butter smooth.

Yates has done a good job but Andy is still owed a lot of razors which should be coming soon from Yates (more than half the preorders have not shipped from Yates yet).  But Jake will get them out soon and I think everyone here trusts that.

In order to make this efficient and to get the finishing done right, Andy needs the balance of the razor lot so they are done at one shot.  The process of finishing the razors is expensive and scales at the quantity of the pre-buy.  This is just simply how manufacturing works in the US (and most places). The finishing process alone costs are similar to the cost to manufacture an inexpensive SS razor in North America.

I know one thing, i am waiting for it and all of us who pre bought it at 262.50 got a very good deal for prepaying and being patient.

Last comments - I paid the same as everyone and even after this run is done and shipped, there should be a second run of razors so don’t fear missing it.  You should have a chance to buy it if you want it.  But let’s give him time to get the first large run out.

While we wait for the razors, can you speak about the main differences between the Salient and the Diamondback...I have
never been clear about them. And since you have used both...even the DB Ti prototype...I thought I would ask.

Anyone else who has used salient and DB, please feel free to have a go. (altho Im more interested in DB Ti vs Salient, ideally)

Here was Frank’s head to head comparison of the Dback and Salient - (#53)

https://damnfineshave.com/thread-paradig...#pid514509

Probably the most comprehensive comparison of the two.
