It’s been posted this way for years…

I shouldn’t beat around the bush and say 95%, I’m 100% sure.

Historically -

Ti1 is its own geometry.
17-4 shares the geometry with the Ti2.
Diamondback is its own geometry.
Salient is its own geometry.

He only ever made 51 Ti1. If he wanted to make more he would have. It’s not my story to tell and I’ve already said more than I need to. I’m just telling those on here, if you want the older razors you have to buy them from people who own them. I’m 100% sure.

For me, the 17-4 and especially the Ti1, are terribly overrated. Had them both and was glad to get rid of them. The limited availability and glorified reviews are what drives the allure. It certainly isn't the performance.

Have tried the Diamondback?

My personal opinion… it shaves better and differently than the Ti1 and 17-4.

Hard to find much to compare it to other than the RS10 and that is good company to keep.

I think they're good razors; it truly depends on your preferences.

I had Ti2, which has neutral exposure and is a nice razor for those who prefer a mild, no-blade feel.

DB is more like a daily or every other day razor with positive exposure. RS10A is very similar. I don't shave daily, so I sold it.

Ti1 is aggressive compared to his other razors, yet it is also smooth. But because Blackbird Ti gives me a better cutting angle and a more comfortable shave, I didn't want to keep pricey Ti1.

The BST values do not improve the performance of a razor for me. They are simply rare. However, it increases the demand.

No, I have skipped the Diamondback model completely. I've not tried the RS10 either.

I am holding out hope this new DB will be a keeper. Based on your thoughts, it just may be. If not, should be fairly easy to unload.

I ordered one too.

More importantly I must mark my calendar for Feb 15th. There’s a good chance of some wailing and gnashing of teeth here on that day and I would hate to miss it. The Salient rollercoaster was already quite fun.

I saw the no backing out of preorder clause and I'm prepared to gnash teeth but wait until it comes. Bet it'll be worth it. I should have never sold my 2020 DB and this should remove sellers remorse.

My 2020 Diamondback is my favorite shaver.  I am looking forward to adding a Titanium Diamondback to my collection.  Paradigm razors tend to have beautiful aesthetics, particularly the handles:

I agree with Southsider The Diamondback 2020 is one of my top two razors as it provides what I look for in a razor these days. A good amount of efficiency/effectiveness and smoothness. If I were to be super critical it’s a little bit handle heavy at the bottom but it’s really nothing that affects the great shaves I get with it. The Ti version to me will give it the weight and balance I prefer in a razor nowadays and also will also make it even more maneuverable than the SS which is a plus for the technique I use.

No comparison here between the Diamondback and the Blackbird but I never really got along with the Blackland Blackbird SS and I tried quite a few of them over the years but I really enjoy the Ti Version. Not always but in this case the metal made a big difference in the characteristics of the BB for me.

So I have high hopes for the Diamondback Ti and can’t wait to get mine. I’ve been a fan of the brand since the Ti 1 came out for both looks and performance.

Good move Andrew.

The part that made me jump in on this bandwagon was Jake Yates’ involvement
