Guys, if you go back and read Andy’s posts in the last several pages of this thread, you’ll see that he already addressed these questions. Someone posted a page or so back that there’s been conflicting info on whether the DB will be re-released. Well, there’s actually been conflicting info given on that question by Andy himself. His last post on the matter, as I recall seeing it - and I’m paraphrasing - is that he reserves the right to do whatever he decides to do....and to change his mind along the way. So, there you have it....
Well, I found the post I was referring to above....it’s #136 in this thread, and Andy says:

Next release is titanium Javelin. I don't know when or if the DB will be released again. I constantly process feedback from users, and my usual instinct is to tweak. Ideally, I would like to have a couple of models of DE razors and keep them in constant stock. When I'm satisfied I've pushed the DE design close to as far as it will go, I'll quit tweaking, at least for awhile. I've learned a great deal from each release.

I'm kind of contradicting myself from earlier, when I said I'd keep this design around. Something similar at any rate.”

Thank you.
From the reviews I’ve seen, it sounds like the design of the current DB 2020 is “close to as far as it will go”, and he could easily keep it as a regular product, and sell enough of them.
But I guess that, similar to other great artisans, he’s a perfectionist, so maybe he’s still not fully satisfied.
I’m still hoping he’ll see all the great feedback and interest from new potential buyers and decide to release it again.... wishful thinking, I know.... Smile

DB 2020 is billed as the best Double Edge yet from Paradigm... “Yet” being the operative word. I’m sure Andy will try to outdo the performance with the new Ti Javelin.

That is the plan. The Diamondback will not be a regular production, that ship has sailed. Andy is fully invested in the Javelin now. I've just received an email which confirms this, sorry it is now BST or nothing for the Diamondback.

Well, looks like I got very lucky, as Andy informed me upon purchasing mine that I got the last Diamondback he had available. I do hope he’s able to make more, as it appears there’s quite a few interested/seeking to obtain one. It’s strange how niche wet shaving can be sometimes... And sometimes that’s exactly what we’re attracted to... It’s like the more limited something is, the more it’s inevitably hyped and sought after. With that said, the DB is a very nice razor, but so are my Charcoal Goods razors, Timeless razors, and several others. Fortunately, we have quite a few options these days!

I highly recommend those looking for a Diamondback to keep an eye out for a 2019. I have one myself and the finish is more like a very fine brushed finish as opposed to a mirror polish, but the shave is still outstanding and they seem to be a little more available. I couldn't be happier with mine.

I remembered him saying he would keep the design around early in this thread, so I quit following because I prefer limited runs because it helps keep resale value up. At least in my head it does, assuming it's a great performer. Now it seems a change of one's mind may have brought this one right back on the radar.

Anyone wanna save me search time, this release was 150?
