An absolutely amazing razor. So much better than the 2019. Quickly becoming my favorite razor. So glad I ordered when I did. I must have gotten one of the last from this batch as they were sold out shortly after submitting my order. Andy should definitely do another batch for release soon.

On the secondary market, is there a way to discern between the 2020 and the other versions?

Maybe only by the quality of the polish, the 2020 version being much better.

+1 It moved up my list so fast as well... It is an amazing razor , and it is extremely efficient with no blade feel whatsoever. Andy earned my approval for Best customer Satisfaction out of any razor artisan.

Edit:Let me add my favorite favorite Paradigm DB 2020 SOTD pic :

Does anyone know if there will be another batch of DB 2020 or whether it was a limited/ one-off run?
I’ve seen conflicting info....

Living on the edge
IMO there is no reason I can think of why this model shouldn't be a regular
production model...like Blackbird, for instance.

The only thing scarcity does is pump up the resale market.

Make them available in copious quantities, I say.

I think Andrew tries to always have his next run of razors be better than his last.

After polishing one razor myself, I can't imagine being happy doing even 100 of them (let alone copious quantities) unless there were some other huge driver. . . . .like making enough on sales to cover design and prototyping costs needed to bring one of your beloved ideas into reality. . . . .and then maybe read about it in threads like this.

I sure get the impression Andrew is a real shaving enthousiast who gets a lot of pleasure out of trying new things (as we all do!!!). He just has enough courage and know-how to expend time, effort, and capital to take charge of the process in a far more active manner than I do. . . . .(kind of like a soap maker I admire).

I think the result of Andrew's creative process is that 50 to 100 people get to share in the results of his hard work.

I know I wouldn't want to make several hundred of the same design without trying to improve performance (for my own use even) while adding a different aesthetic look too. Maybe someday, the design will be so perfect that Andrew will no longer wish to make a new statement with his next batch, but I for one hope he has more statements to make.

I totally agree, and I hope it will become a regular model.
But I was wondering about it because, having not been familiar with Paradigm before, I recently heard about DB 2020... unfortunately too late to purchase one, as it was already sold out. Whilst I was reading about Paradigm, I got the impression that its business model has been different from others (eg Blackbird), with most/ all previous razors being limited runs.
And it sounds like he’s now moved to working on a Ti version of the Javelin razor.
So I’m not sure if he’s considering another batch of DB 2020... although I really hope he is and I agree that it would probably continue to sell really well.

Andrew told me directly in an email that he had another release planned for the Diamondback. He did not say when it might be though. I hope this comes to be. I would be great if more people could enjoy his great razors not just a limited few.
Happy shaves
