Every company has it's own Sales and Marketing strategies drafted well in advance. The only reason I forsee a smaller batches with some of these artisans could be because of the capital involved in bigger batches. I admire companies who can pan out bigger batches as that's the right thing to do, both for themselves and their customers.

For a company which is into smaller batches I do not see any gains in the long run. Though they might earn praise for their products but the only winners are those who sell their products in secondary markets at a huge mark-up.

Wish I had enough money to back all these artisans so that the secondary market prices are kept in check and there is enough and more for everyone.

The problem that I see with Paradigm Razors is that almost all of the razors are one-offs. He can make multiple small batches of the same razor and they would sell.

My opinion on the mark up is that these razors get hyped up by the exclusivity of it and well, people pay. If he released small batches of the previous models, it would keep the secondary market prices in check. I noticed Wolfman razors last way longer on the BST if they are priced high like they used to be. People rather wait and pay the artisan than overpay too much for a used razor.

Might be true for some but I couldn’t care less if they are exclusive or everyone has a handful. Those razors just are my preferred shavers. Would love for him to make a few more of the older models but it’s his decision

Same here...
Hopefully he’ll see there’s quite a lot of interest and release another batch at some point this year.

I remember going to the site and was going to purchase one but decided against it since I recently got a WR2 and thought to myself “I’ll wait for the titanium version if one is ever made” and moved on. I don’t regret that decision, I would love something as or more efficient and a bit lighter than the 1.25 WR2.

With all this Diamondback love-fest still going on I decided to use another Paradigm today and I was reminded of why these razors are so wonderful to use. The Paradigm 17-4 is different from all the others in that it was made from the denser and heavier 17-4 steel and it has the shorter 3 inch handle (not my personal preference). Nevertheless the shave is as smooth and comfortable as the Diamondback on the WTG pass. It looses ever so slightly in comfort when going ATG or XTG in comparison to the Diamondback but still excels in comparison to all other razors. Similarly when going ATG or XTG the is ever so slight blade feel. However with the shorter 3 inch handle and the heft of the 17-4 its maneuverability is stellar especially when using it ATG. Regarding efficiency I think the Diamondback may have the edge "by a whisker" but I am not so sure as the end result with either is BBS or close to it. So if you can find either razor you will be rewarded by an excellent experience as they are both fantastic tools.

Thanks Andrew - and looking forward to your future Paradigms

That would be a HARD pass for me. I won't pay a premium. I'll wait for a new one or a reasonable BST sale as I'm practicing patience and have enough other gear  Winking
