Soaps and balm are back on sale. Prices dropped to $18. Never say never, but there's no plan to restock these when they're gone. We love the products. Long-story-short, the experiment just didn't pan out as we'd hoped.

Maybe people are so enthralled by the brushes that they don’t even realize there are other things on sale on the site…

Thanks for your posts. We certainly haven't done much to promote the soaps (promotion isn't our thing), and they've been off the site since June. But there's more to it than that. Not worth getting into, though. We just need to move on.

Still, it is a shame. We think these are great products. We had very substantial involvement in their development. And we're going to miss having them.

The glass jars are some of the nicest soap containers out there.

I absolutely love the scent of Slik Road. I liked looking at the glass jar as well, but for practical purposes (storage, loading etc), I had to transfer the soap to another not so deep but wider container. It's a shame more people didn't get to use the soaps.

Was lucky enough to snag this Cobalt Chief, I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time! I’m hoping to acquire a Chief in Lime someday as well. If I’m really lucky I’ll be able to acquire my Unicorn, a Paladin Chief in Ebonite. Beautiful release ChiefBroom, the Dark Holler Crew is doing some amazing things in the world of Shave Brushes.

Yup, I was looking on Twitter an hour ago and saw your "tweet" that you had brushes in stock. This is my lucky day thinks I (naively) so I follow the link to your site and yes, there they are a bunch of lovely brushes all showing in stock.  I quickly scan, finger shaking a bit a this point and see one I like, put it into the cart and click the paypal checkout...YES!  Or more accurately, NO!  After logging in to paypal and almost home free...... I am abruptly informed that the item doesn't ship to Canada.  Bummer.  Oh well, I really didn't need another shaving brush.

I know this subject has been talked to death but seriously, the US "prohibition" on exporting badger brushes has to be one of the silliest laws on the books.*  The bristles are imported into the US from China for crying out loud.  I would expect that a one way flow of badger bristle into the US without any ability to export it out will lead to an oversupply of badger bristle and brush prices should drop.  Good for the consumers but bad for the brush makers.  Add into the mix that not all brush makers / Vendors observe the rules and it makes for a frustrating experience if you live ex US and want to buy some of these items.  I for one want no part of the whole broker / forwarder scene either, it just jacks the cost of non-essential items.  

I guess I should thank fate in the form of the US government for forcing me to exercise the restraint that I seem unable to do on my own! amor fati
* In case anybody thinks me unfair, I consider the many regulations of most governments to be silly. They often start with a seed of a good rationale but then are thoughtlessly applied across the board without consideration of consequences.

Sorry ChiefBroom for using your merchant thread to go off on government regulation! In any case I want to say that your brushes are absolutely beautiful and anyone who is able to acquire one is a fortunate shaver. The fact that I, as a middle-aged so-so tech savy social media light weight was able to be alerted and would have been able to acquire one of your brushes in different circumstances is proof that if someone wants to buy one of your brushes, with persistence its possible.
