I spent a few hours contacting old activist friends to pursue a change in the regulation. After bemused replies from people I taught to board high seas ships and in turn climb redwood trees I had a basic procedure of no little daunting prospect. The shaving tribes certainly have the numbers. What we lack is a neutral venue to post links to online resources
banned by various forum rules, receive modest online financial support and the ever present reality of a small handful of people working toward the benefit of a majority disinclined to involvement on any scale.
Once again people simply must find ways to skirt laws quietly with a little added effort and complication.

I honestly think there's a good chance of effecting some positive change. I'm probably in as good a position to make a run at that as anyone. I made a start in the first half of last year, but shop moves and other stuff got in the way, and I haven't managed to pick it up again yet. We're stretched very thin and have some higher priorities right now, but I will re-engage with the issue. In the meantime, I'll do best to maintain myself in compliance. I'd expect a background of noncompliance to make pursuit of change through advocacy directed to the established order a bit risky.

That is all too familiar. No one is more against change than the "establishment"

As you know the past month or so I've been "wheeling and dealing" the Paladins in my collection in order to accumulate the 2CL knots I like so very much. I have also managed to bring most of the Paladin brushe's knot diameters down to 26mm, which is my personal preference. In the process I've gotten to know some other brush lovers and we've had fun exchanging. I have one Tortoise El Dorado in 26mm on its way to me, but these are the Paladins I've kept or swapped; and now I am probably going to take a break from adding to the collection once the El Dorado arrives. These are the Cadillac of brushes in my estimation; that is if you buy American. I have not been disappointed in any Paladin brush I've handled. Thank you everyone at Dark Holler Design Works for these beautiful brushes.
