Also I noticed the Gold plate is a little thicker then the Blue plate. At this point I'm going to hold on to the Razor and experiment with it a little more. I want to try the Gold plate with the shim next Shave. Still can't believe we haven't heard from Douglas yet. Also notice how no one on line is reviewing this Razor. Hmmmm

2 reviews that I saw on YouTube and both say great shave. Neither mentions any issues

I have had to do the same thing on mine. Other shave forums mention the issues with the back of the head.

Once I jam the back of the head cap like your I get better performance

I shave with the B plate and a heftier handle and I find the Starling hard to beat, especially at the price point. No issues with it at all. O.K, the blue plate is pretty inefficient for me but YMMV.
