PAA General Thoughts?

There is no doubt that PAA has the widest scent selection in the biz.  I just ordered Coconut Bay with Lime, NavyGoat and The Beach - I already have The Beach in original glycerin and version 2.0 I think - I love it so I'm looking forward to it in 3.0.

Hey Kevin, Im getting Navygoat on your recommendation and I will certainly let you know my thoughts. I love The Beach!! I've had the original formula and aftershave for several years and I have a small tub of version 2.0 so I figured I have to have it in version 3.0 right? I don't have the words to describe it other than beach-y, and it resembles nothing else I've tried.

I drove past that truck earlier this week, its an International Harvester I'm not sure what year but it looked so cool I stopped and took some pictures. I have a soft spot for IH trucks, I had 2 International Scouts back in the 80s and they were tough, heavy duty trucks. I wish I still had them.

The current formula is the only PAA that I have experience with and it is really nice. I am so overloaded with soaps right now but placed an order earlier in the week for PAA Al Fin and Lime Ice Sage.

It really is a madness.

A good friend had a Scout back in the day [early '80's]. Left the hard top off 24/7 and was driving in front of me one afternoon, hood flew up, wrapped over the windshield and knocked him unconscious. Luckily the ditch wasn't too deep

Thing was indestructible. 70's were a great time for Scout's, Broncos and Blazers.

Wow, there's a good case for bungee cords tying your hood down if I ever heard one. Lucky he wasn't more seriously hurt. I had an Triumph GT6+ that had a tip up hood and a bit of damage to it including the hood latches so I used bungee cords. Driving down the highway one day at 70 mph what little holding the latches provide gave out and the hood started to bounce up in front of me on the rubber bungee cords - immediate pit stop. If it hadn't been a tip up hood (opens back to front) I think it would have been considerably worse.

Kevin, it is a madness indeed. I tell myself that I have enough damn soap and they are all excellent but then I hear of some other soap with bison tallow or what not and there it goes point click done. I'll date myself here but its like Fred Flintstone in the episode when he had the betting addiction (bet, bet, bet, betbetbet!).

The scouts were all made to the same standard as their commercial trucks - I recall a really bad hailstorm that my scout was out in. Any other car was seriously damaged, some were written off but the scout had zero damage. I changed the clutch in one of them and found things so heavy that I vowed never again - when my other one needed a clutch I took it in to a 4x4 shop and they mechanic was griping that the bell housing on the transmission was as heavy as that in a Mack truck. I told him thats why he was doing it and not me

First try but the aftershaves I've tried do not impress me at all. The sandlewood seems just ok. I am very picky. Don't like anything sweet at all.

Did you wear the scents or just smell them out of the bottle? I learned not to judge their scents until applying them. Many are very complex and have to dry down to be experienced.

There's probably about 50 scents between PAA and Crown King. You should be able to find one you like, but if you didn't like the performance then I'd move on to another brand. I find PAA aftershaves outperform most others, but they are definitely not for everyone due to the ingredients. You will find alum in most or all of them and you won't find witch hazel in the alcohol versions. Those two things make for a different experience than most other aftershaves but I enjoy it. However, based on the fact that you didn't like 4 out of 5 scents you tried you may not have much luck.

I found they are just to sweet. The dragons blood & oud smell like sweet rootbeer. The sandlewood seems the best.

I like spicy woody non sweet scents, to give you some idea....old spice, the avons are ok, arammis is nice, the royall fragrances are very nice bayrum,spice,mandarin orange,lime..dont really like musk.....if you've ever smelled Braggi that's the best.

I don't smell root beer in Sangre de Drago at all but there is some sweetness. But if I did smell root beer like you say, I wouldn't like it either.
