I noticed a few hours after the drop that they were still in stock and wondered the same thing as you. Either that, or supply has increased.

Either way, I am still enjoying mine, and quite a bit. I'm three shaves in now, and I finished with it opened a half-turn last time. It is a smooth shaver for me, and the half-turn seems to add the "oomph" I need to clean up problem areas.

Aggressive and efficient are two terms that get mixed together though. When I think of aggressive I think in terms of how likely is thing to bite me if I'm not careful with it. Efficient is how well does is mow down whiskers. So I would still say 6/7 on the aggressive scale, but 8/9 on the efficient scale/side. It is pretty easy to get a BBS shave with two passes and some touch ups for me. Others may feel different though.

Wish I had one to compare the two, but I don't. I'm curious to hear the comparison ass well. Maybe GlazedBoker can tell you as it seems he has every razor out there. Smile

Completely different shave! I have the SB and OC Blackbird and the stainless steel Ascension and the latter is much more mild. I love my Ascension but don’t put it in the same realm as the Blackbird. Just my opinion!

If the Accension is the same as the 2016 Phoenix Dual Comb mine is more aggressive, and as efficient as my OC and SB Blackbirds. Cuts through a three day growth smooth as silk. I'm not sure if they're the same. The 2016 is not adjustable AFAIK
