My Parker 91R regular straight head is far superior.

My old GEM Micromatic Open Comb ($10 on eBay) consistently gives me a better shave than any of my other razors with the exception of a properly honed Rolls Razor.

I used my Micromatic Bullet tip yesterday and my face is still almost bbs. I can easily skip a day of shaving when I use it or the MMOC. The single edge razors just seem to shave smoother with fewer passes, which equals less irritation.

Hope that you enjoy chevyguy!

Hi Kevin, I'm really looking forward to trying the Pearl OC head on my MR-22 handle. Hopefully it will shave closer than the Maggards OC head. And with the comb teeth curved downward more, and edges smoothed the shave should be more comfortable.

I tend to agree primotenore. Long ago I watched a video from Mark that showcased the technique and I have done it every since out of habit.

I think you can get the same result with a conventional razor although the slants are pretty fun to use. If I had to choose one or the other, I would definitely go with an OC.

That's my understanding too Jeff.

I have the older Maggards OC head and although I think it a good value, I do think it very mild and not keen on the design.

The Parker style head seems both a lot more comfortable and efficient for my beard.

Enjoy in great health Clayton!

Thank's Kevin, I think I have the older Maggard head also, it's pretty mild. I'll keep you updated on the Pearl OC head and how it shaves once I get to use it.

I have the Merkur 37G, a German no-name, and a Hoffritz travel, slants all. I get great shaves from each of them and enjoy using them. However, if I had to choose either slant or open comb (I have several) but not both then I think I'd lean towards open comb. I'm just glad I don't have to choose. Big Grin

Why choose, Freddy? Buy the ATT S2 and have an OC slant!

And just to think I was recently asked why I have so many Razors and brushes by a lady friend of mine. However she appreciates the fact that I keep her supplied with Sensor carts, and Cremo. I would like to get a Murker Slant to replace the one I sold 4 years ago.
