Just got a response from OneBlade as to their recommendation for cleaning:

"As for cleaning the razor, the best solution is to soak the razor overnight in a solution of Simple Green. After soaking, rinse thoroughly and the razor will be completely clean."

Sounds reasonable to me.

Indeed, and I just so happen to have some simple green on hand.

For what it's worth I'm finding their customer support to be helpful and responsive so far. Good stuff.

Geez, I feel like a dope. I examine the OneBlade closer and all I had to do was flip it over to have my answer. It is open underneath enough to clearly see that the glue/wax isn't building up in the razor head. You can probably even get a toothbrush in there for a scrub if you wanted to.

In any case, at least we now have OneBlade's recommended cleaning method.

If not a toothbrush, maybe a thin pipe cleaner will get in there to clean it up.

Warm water is recommended and effectively washes out ear wax. I feel sure you can extrapolate and say that hot water will move any buildup of the wrapping paper wax out of there pronto!

They may have torqued the screws to certain numbers to maintain the tolerances that make the head work properly and don't want people messing with them. From all appearances, the OneBlade is aimed at "Mr. Everyman" and not the rather more skilled enthusiasts that hang out on the boards.

I agree: I wouldn't want to disassemble the razor or do anything else which might compromise its exact tolerances. The wax on the blades hasn't bothered me yet; I leave it alone and figure it will start to dissipate with hot water, as beamon said. The OneBlade rinses really easily mid-shave, which is nice.

I also rub most of the glue off of the blade before I ever insert it into the razor. Preventative maintenance.
