Some people get so emotional over a freaking blade...   Tongue

Anyway, the great factor in the OneBlade is that it takes the Feather FHS and the GEM PTFE with very minor modifications, unlike vintage SE's.

Len, I am not attacking OneBlade. I'm just realistic in understanding how things work. I also don't jump to conclusions. I simply stated that there is as much possibility that the blade pictured is a hardware blade as there is that it is a PTFE GEM. You are the one who won't acknowledge that and keep intimating your higher reasoning skills as solid enough evidence which is above refute.

You continue to brush off what I say and try to turn it back around on me. I must ask, is your day job in politics cause you are slick and your speech may fool others but I tired of it long ago. I try to avoid your posts until you cross the line. I'm truly thankful to you for most of this post, but that won't keep me from addressing the other areas in your OP that are lacking evidence. I've also never said I had evidence of the contrary, but merely would like you to stop purporting the blade in question must be a GEM PTFE based on reasoning.

Keep your hugs for the babies at the polls. Tongue

And for the record, I'm not emotional over a blade. I simply prefer truth without having veiled inferences thrown in which try to stand on the merit of the rest of the words surrounding it.

Okay, Brian, so now I'm a politician, I try to "fool" others, and you don't like, and try to avoid my posts. Any more "personal attacks" you'd like to lob my way?

I'll say it again, and repeat it several times, because it seems you were unable to read it the first time in my review:

"The second picture in OneBlade's testing, may or may not be the PTFE, although there are reasons to believe it might be."

Instead of all the personal attacks, can we please get back to GEM's vs. Feather's in the OneBlade?

I just ordered 240 feather blades from Connaught . While I was considering getting some GEM PTFE blades, I decided it wasn't worth the time and extra effort. I'm satisfied enough with the feather blades. Maybe GEM will start making blades for the oneblade at some point.

I highly doubt that will happen. Just wait for a maker to finally make their razor around the GEM blade. It's going to happen.

Of course, it still might have to copy the pivot and OneBlade's very precise head design to come close to the OneBlade. And if it is made only for the GEM, it will have less blade options than the OneBlade.

There are many vintage razors that are made specifically for the GEM, that even Brian seems to like less than the OneBlade.

Any new SE razor maker has a tall order on their hands to beat the vintage GEM's, let alone the OneBlade.

We can only hope. And at half the price or less than the OneBlade...

I read in amusement both Brian's and Len's posts. I must say I respect both of your positions and I also respect the knowledge both of you have contributed and have helped me. Hell,I was freaking laughing at the oneblade when I first saw their ads,and then I stumbled onto this site (I have been a member of the "other site) for over 10 years. Anyway, I read Brian's journal and decided to try the oneblade. Well,it shocked me when I received it and discovered it DID give me my best shave ever. I have wet-shaved for a lot of years, tried over 75 razors, and this oneblade blew me away. Anyway, back to the blades. I find they are both very good with the oneblade and the distinction between the two is minute. As far as being "hassled" with the de-spining, it takes me all of 5 seconds to do. I don't think I will be a "nipper" though as I feel the smiling gem is good. I guess I am in the middle of you two guys and I am the one who voted in the poll as such. What I think we can all agree upon however,is that the oneblade is an awesome shaver.
