This is one of the neater old, vintage shaving/medicine cabinets I've seen.
Love the cut-out for the brush.

Even though you get everything inside of it as well $120 is still a tad high.
Nice to look at though Smile

Very interesting.
The frame is a nice touch.
Despite the laxative the GEM Micromatic unmistakably says "Shaving".

That would make it a $10 cabinet out of a $120 antique but I'm far from an expert. NEVER refinish an antique. That's just what I've learned by destroying more than my share of antiques. BTDT.

I wouldn't pay $120 for it..I know that much.

I wouldn't either but it's interesting to see. I'd take the same $ and make my own and did. I don't think I exceeded $120 when I built mine. IMO it's much nicer looking and far more functional.

So as not to hijack the thread I'll link to it. It's the #3 post in the thread below.

Nice cabinet - I should add that to my list of wood working projects - $15 in pine, $3 for the faux antique finish, $2 for old hinges - $100 profit.  Interesting how much some of these older pieces of furnature cost considering when this was new it was probably a very cheap piece used in the average house. Looking at the lack paint around the brush cut-out makes me wonder if they added that after they bought it?

Just wonder why someone would need a can of laxative that big?  Smile
