Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Aloe Vera Glycerin Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gillette 1947 Super Speed (NDC/No Notch)
Blade: Gillette Nacet Stainless (4th Use)
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T2 Synthetic
Lather: Wickham Soap Co. (Classic 24), Face Lathered
Post: Generic Reformed Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Musk, Nivea Sensitive Skin & Stubble Balm

A very successful two pass shave. This Wickham Soap Co. Classic 24 recently arrived from the UK and this was the first use. I'm terrible at describing scents, but the website describes it as "essence of a 50s barbers shop, Classic 24 is a fruity, leather fragrance for the modern, classic man." It is a vegan soap and it seemed to start lathering even before I put the brush in the tub...just that easy. Face lathering was a breeze and the soap's performance was great during the shave. I nearly passed on this soap, as I wanted Irish Fern, but it was out of stock. I'm glad I got it!

Single Edge Sunday!
Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Aloe Vera Glycerin Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gem Junior Bar
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (2ng Use)
Brush: Jayaruh #403 Synthetic
Lather: Phoenix & Beau (Imperial Rum), Face Lathered
Post: Generic Reformed Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Clubman Pinaud Lime Sec EDC, Nivea Sensitive Balm

A successful two pass shave! Can't say enough good about the Gem Jr. Bar. What a smooth shaver and there's nothing like loading up a bunch of lather and whiskers in the catcher. Rinsing off the razor is about as satisfying as the actual shave. The second use on the PTFE blade was much less harsh. On the second pass I got a bit greedy and incorporated some ATG action and picked up a few weepers. I wonder when that lesson will stick!?!?

First use of the UK's Phoenix & Beau (Imperial Rum) tallow-based soap. I have the Col. Conk bay rum, but this is a more mature, sophisticated scent. When loading the brush, it started creating lather almost immediately. The soap performed very well and I'm glad to have it. And how about that great looking label! This is the second of five soaps/creams I got in my recent Connaught Shaving buy.

The plan for tomorrow is to break my duck with an injector blade. Picked up a dispenser of Personnas in the previously mentioned buy. Looking forward to taking my MMFW/BT for a spin!

Be well, stay safe!

Ditto.

Quite an awesome start to a journal and I'm already learning something. I do hope we get more of these wonderful British phrases. I absolutely have to remember that one.

Double ditto! Cricket, a game with its own language!

But Google failed for MMFW/BT. May cricket isn't the only thing in this Journal with its own language!  Tongue

Not exactly sure why, but a couple of years ago I got hooked on the English Premier League. Watched Liverpool destroy Barcelona at Anfield in the Champions league and I was instantly a fan. I became a bit of an Anglophile. Love me some British teas now as well. Not sure how I feel about the monarchy, but you got to love the Queen! Big Grin

I, too, became a bit of an Anglophile. I blame Holmes and Watson (the originals), Sherlock, Tolkien, Downton Abbey, and the Great British Bake Off! As Churchill supposedly said, we're two people separated by a common language! And Upton Tea. While mostly a coffee drinker, getting some great loose leaf teas really turned me on to tea drinking in the afternoon.
