when my face gets very dry, I'll stick with an oil wash for a few weeks. does anyone else use an oil wash? Here's the recipe that I use in a 1oz bottle:

1/2 oz castor oil
1/4 oz grapeseed oil
1/4 oz jojoba oil
5-6 drops of essential oil

this works wonderfully for me!

Oily skin is very prone to acne, which can be difficult to tackle. It's important to choose the right skin care product for oily skin. When choosing the product that works best for you, first make sure you know your skin type and choose accordingly. One can view products here for every skin type and choose the right skin care product for your skin type.

From my reading, castor seed oil is still appropriate to those with oily skin. I also feel jojoba oil is very suitable various skin types. Grapeseed oil isn't one that I dislike but simply don't use it very much.

That's known as the "oil cleansing method" and the castor oil is the essential ingredient. The oils that you use with it can be switched around until you find ones that agree with your skin. It is often recommended as a means to remove blackheads, under the theory that "oil dissolves oil". For that purpose, it is usually recommended to massage a little oil into the skin, leave it for 20 minutes, and then gently steam it of with a warm, damp washcloth. Over time, the blackheads loosen and start to come out. The usual recommendation is to start with 50/50 castor oil vs other oil, and vary it using more castor for oily skin and less for dry skin, as needed.
