I had an hour between appointments today and decided to check out a local antique store. Found a couple DE razors and one straight but prices were similar to what is found on Ebay and none of the razors were on my "wish" list.

However, I did find this interesting piece but I'm not sure what it is. It is all glass with a couple minor chips but, overall it looks to be in decent condition.





I may not know what is but I had a good idea of what I could do with it. And for $2.50, I was more than willing to give it a try

HoosierShave, I'm almost certain that what you have there is a flower frog.  They are used to arrange flowers in a bowl or vase but I have seen them repurposed to be used as pen holders and, as you have demonstrated here, razor holders.  Here is an explanation: http://www.marthastewart.com/271596/how-...ower-frogs.

I use both razors with the Feather Pros and the shaves are very good. So far, I've used the Rocnel SE50 many times, but the Asylum Rx only once. I have to admit that, while both are nice razors, I prefer the Asylum. It provides a smoother shave and it's less heavy, about 40g less. It's more maneuverable comparing it to the Rocnel SE50. The build quality of both is excellent, but the Asylum has a more elegant and a more detailed design.

I haven't tried any Cobra so I can't comment on that. Asylum is a bit milder than Alumigoose, if this helps.

I've always seen them used as ink pen holders for your desk. Great use for using it as razor holder!
