Several forum members including myself seem to like the razor. Quickly becoming a favorite for nice (but not BBS) shave and no irritation with good post shave feel. Price was obviously good and I am still learning on techniques.

As my first venture into SE razors, how long should the blade last (I ordered the Feather Proguard blades) ??

You’re not alone my friend. I think it shaves very, very well. I have 2 of the original V1’s in brushed steel & rose gold. I’ve never had a bad shave from them. My only concerns with it was the handle and safety guard size. But I think the V2 addresses those issues and from what I’ve seen and read, there are a lot more positives than negatives from those that have shaved with both versions....

Maiden voyage of the Occam's V2 this morning.  I decided to stay with the 2 dot plate and loaded a Fresh Feather Pro Super blade.  I will note that you need to be careful loading the blades to make sure the edge does not come into contact with the two locking points on the top plate.  No big deal just something to be aware of as you load the blade.  With a nice rich slick lather, I went on with the shave.  Whenever, I am using a new razor, I always go with a traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG and ATG.  On the first stroke, the 2 dot plate with a Super Pro has a good bit of blade feel.  Certainly more than a General with the same blade.  Honestly the razor feels a lot like a Cobra against your face.  Three passes and touch ups along my jawline left me with a near perfect shave.  I applied more lather to my bottom right neck and buffed it smooth easily catching the baby.  My first impressions of the razor are very positive.  I can already tell, I will enjoy using this razor.  I plan on using the razor further and updating my thoughts.

Not a fan of the company or razor. I find that it shaves reasonably well, but does not stand out among other SE's on the market.

Another first rate shave with the V2, 2 dot plate and Feather Pro Super blade. Two passes, ATG & XTG followed up by touch ups along my jawline and lower neck ended in another BBS shave. Thus far the shaves have been equal to or better than my shaves with the Cobra Classic, Brass General and Mongoose. I will be trying out the more aggressive plate next to see how it shaves.

My first two shaves with the OREN with the 2 dot plate and Feather Super were fantastic.  I couldn't help myself and decided to give the 3 dot plate a go with the Feather Super blade.  Wow, this is some serious blade feel.  Not as smooth as the 2 dot plate but not bad either.  Ended in a perfect BBS shave.  Color me impressed with the V2,
