Also, as Stephanos1920 mentions a couple drops of lubricant can help the threads. Petroleum Jelly is great and I also use high class sewing machine oil on the male and female threads.

Sew-Rite sewing machine oil is a great one to keep expensive razors humming along.

I  had used baby oil before changing to Canola. Not that liquid paraffin is toxic or
sensitizing .It's just that Canola oil has
higher lubricity.
Paraffin grease ( aka Petroleum Jelly ) is
also a good lubricant.
I guess any non-toxic thin lubricant  ( like
sewing machine oil ) will do .
But personally -cause I do have a tendency
for skin allergies - I hesitate to use sewing
machine oil ( have actually considered it in the past ) .To be honest ,I could have
read a Material Safety Data Sheet ( MSDS )
for this type of oil.I was lazy and already knew
about other more "non-allergic" ( or less sensitizing ) alternatives .

- But I do know that some folks use it
and never have had reported the slightest issue.

Received my Carbon Cx-316L ++ from Sean this morning. It came complete with a black nylon washer installed between the handle and the plate.

I use Wahl Clipper oil. IDK any of the specifics, but I imagine it has a similar viscosity to sewing machine oil, plus some level of corrosion resistance. I also use 'food-grade' mineral oil, on occasion, to clean my razors.
