Nick Shaves

So over the years especially when I started wet shaving I followed a lot of YouTube channels merely to learn more than anything else. These days I hit YouTube for reviews on hardware more than anything else. CaD314 has likely produced more content across more platforms than anyone else in wet shaving and the hobby is way better for it, the sharpologist and GEO fat boy were Trail Blazers, CDB or I lather, or whatever his handle is now is followed by alot of folks... yet NO ONE in wet shaving garners more views or subscribers than “Nick Shaves” and he doesn’t even release that many videos... and the videos he does release rarely incorporate “new” items to market.... and as far as I can tell he’s not active in forums etc.... he’s got 33k subscribers and his videos garner 3-10 times that of the “YouTube personalities” the wetshaving community recognizes.... I find this fascinating actually....

I think I've watched every Nick Shaves YouTube video.  I really liked his videos when I first started this 3.5 years ago.  It was between Nick Shaves and Mantic59 for me when I first started.  I just seemed to relate to them better.  Nick did just put out a recent video with the RazoRock Game Changer.

These days, I'm subscribed to a bunch of YouTube wet shaving channels.  Maybe I'm just collecting them just like I collect everything else wet shaving related.

He does a good job. We’ve used his beginner series to teach newbies. The disconnect between forums and his videos might be because there are more people wanting to learn about products vs. interacting.

Nick is truly a great guy with zero agenda and absolutely no horse in the game, a genuinely sweet/nice guy! I'm proud to call him a friend!

I've been watching Nick since day one, learned a lot from him. It's that nice guy, welcoming personality that draws people in and brings them back. He treats every video as if someone new is watching and walks us through almost every step. Very professional demeanor, class act all the way. It's too bad (for us) the medical profession slowed down his videos.

On the other hand, theres a few bright lights on Youtube that i enjoy watching now. Kens Shaving and BSing (Ken Lea) is a very casual shaver that has a simple approach.
Kensurfs has a few thousand subs, and theres another guy that just hit over 4k. The momentum and interest in wet shaving is definitely there, just need the right guys to represent.
And if it weren't for his past being held against him, Douglas could easily have 30K subs or more with the content he produces like "Id Lather Be Shaving" and such.

I believe Nick is doing his residency to become a doctor..might be why he's not on the forums and such. I think he does come out to the meet ups when they do the NE one though, I think.

Unassuming and enjoyable. Nick seems like the kid next door. I’ve enjoyed his vids and have avoided bad purchases through watching.

What I like/liked about nick is no bullshit. He talks about the software/hardware and that's it. No community stuff, no drama, issues or talking to haters like many other do. His videos are not long, highlight what's most important and are structured in a good way.

Since nick is no longer really active i like watching Michael Freedberg, PaulH & Kevy Shaves from the UK, old iLather vidoes and discovering new youtubers ....

He is the only one I check out really. When I got back into wet shaving it was just geofatboy and mantic with the only online content for the most part. Now there are TONS of people doing videos. Paul H is just a normal guy sharing his shaves, and he seems so happy and enthusiastic it is hard not to like him.
