Hi guys, i am totally new in to shaving with double edge. After nicking my self with shaving with my fathers double edges 20 years back i forgot about them, after getting intrest for older shaving methods years later. my first double edge now is a Rex Ambassador Serial O. I am in love with it. It shaves amazing with an astra blade.

The box it comes in is useless in my opnion maybe only for resale if that would occur. I don't like the Rex case which is expensive anyway.
I was wondering if anybody knows if there are cases sold which look like old Gilette shavers with a nice soft inside and metal of leather outside? The new 2019 Gilette double edge shaver has also one, but not suitable for the rex.

Thanx

I haven't seen a suitable case except the one sold by razor emporium.
I use a leather pouch for keys I received with my last car.

It’s not like an old Gillette case, but I have a leather case made by Waterfield Designs. I can’t find it anymore, but here is the nylon version of the case with Ikon branding.

I am using a Parker leather case, which I also use for travel (I move the blades to a checked bag). This case is available online from many vendors such as Amazon, Maggard and Supersafetyrazors. It is a high quality case which is fitting for a high quality razor.[Image: m1bDsRo.jpg]

I was lucky enough to pick up the Waterfield Designs case a few months ago. It’s a great quality case with room for a pack of blades. With it unavailable, that Parker seems to fit the bill nicely.

I would love the Parker case minus the section for the pack of blades, and thus a reduction in the width of the case. I'm looking for something slim, large enough to hold only a razor up to 4" fully assembled.

I'm thinking of trying to find a metal container with a lid and using generic-sized foam that you can use in Pelican hard cases and using an X-acto knife to cut out material to accommodate a razor.

If you look on eBay you'll find people selling just vintage cases for reasonable prices depending on condition.  I have been looking for a case for the Gillette Ambassador I got from my dad and had restored by Razorplate - now the razor is mint but the case is complete garbage.  I considered trying to restore it but I think its easier and probably cheaper to buy an original vintage Ambassador case.  I've even considered buying a case in great condition with a poor condition razor in it because its still not unreasonable. Good luck
