My daughter and her boyfriend have been visiting this week and tonight her boyfriend started asking me about my razor collection. By the end of the conversation I had set him up with a RazoRock Mission razor that I had just purchased through the closeout sale at shave prophet, a variety of blades to try, a silvertip brush and one of my favorite shaving creams. My sons aren't old enough to shave yet so this was very exciting to me to be able to get someone into wet shaving. He is excited to start and I am excited to help him out. Pretty good start to the new year.

Way to go, Vilhauer! Good deal for all but your poor daughter. I can picture boyfriend coming over to pick up daughter and the two of you spending time talking shaving while daughter drums her fingers on the table waiting. Smile

Well lucky for her they go to school in Montana which is quite a ways from Omaha. What she better worry about is RAD or any of the other disorders that comes along with this wonderful lifestyle we have chosen. Smile

Got a facebook message from my daughter's boyfriend and it couldn't have been better. He thanked me again and said it was the best shave he had ever had. Woop woop!

Hi Vilhauer, it is a great feeling setting someone on the path to a lifetime of enjoyment and superior shaves. I stumbled on to it myself in a farmers market. A stall that sold Japanese kitchen knives had a small selection of wet shaving products and I bought a little eShave travel kit with a badger brush, shave cream, alum and aftershave balm. It was transformative. The DE razor soon followed and the rest is history. I have since converted my son, my brother and his three sons and a work colleague. I have found some fellows who are stubbornly resistant to the idea, however. Their loss.

Very well done- I wish I had discovered wet shaving earlier in life.

You should have him join us at DFS!

My husband recruited me about 3months ago when he started using DE's again because of the cost factor and a better shave. I used to gringe whenever I had to shave my legs because I didn't enjoy it. But now, I have about 4 really nice razors, my go to blades are Voskhod, Rainbow and Treet. I have also purchased 4 different scents of Arko creams for after my shaves but the best part is getting my bathroom nice and hot from the water and letting the scents from different soaps just wash over me. I have suffered from depression and severe anxiety attacks since I was 12 years old and when I'm having one of those days, I just do the shaving thing and it really helps me feel better.
I look forward to recruiting more people, especially women into this new area of shaving.

Welcome to DFS, Dawn.

You mentioned, in another post, that you lived in Toledo. What part? I lived in Toledo in my 20s and still visit friends back there. Smile

As Freddy said Dawn, welcome to DFS! Is your husband a member of DFS as well? Glad to have you and look forward to hearing more of your favorite things being relatively new to DE shaving.
