Coming soon to a new DFS merchant.

Looks to me like a quality set of ingredients to make a very nice shaving soap.

I'd love to know more. Is the website up? How many different shave soaps will be offered? Are you still doing testing?

My Social Media marketing director (aka Mrs Olschoolsteel) Is currently building a Facebook account to sell them. I loathe Facebook, but I found as a business owner I have to use it. The good thing is potential customers don't have to create a profile to purchase
. We are also finalizing the round sticker that will hold the plastic wrap in place. Pretty much the same style as Mike's or Stirling's.

Testing is over. I wanted to get it right before release. As a shave soap consumer I rely on repeatable consistency. Not change for the sake of change and marketing. So the base is set. We'll be offering a multitude of scents, then focus more on the ones that sell best. I am going for unique and pleasant. I am not a perfumer masquerading as a soaper. But I am a farmer that focuses on pure grass pasture raised Beef, Lamb, Goat, and my neighbors do the heritage hogs. When I get the meat back from the butchers, I pay them to strip the fat bag and freeze it for me. I then grind, render, filter and refreeze it for the soaper.
Right now I have Green Tea (kind of a light fougere), and the log is Bergamot, Neroli, and Chamomile. After cutting into the 3.5 oz pucks, they seemed a bit soft yet so I stacked them for further drying. (on top of a freezer, where else).
I have about 4-6 scents I really want to try. The soaper made a shampoo bar (beef tallow) for Mrs Olschoolsteel of Satsuma and Patchouli. I think that will be a scent I have her infuse in the Shave soap. The Patchouli is secondary and mild.

I also have piles of beef and pork tallow I have rendered down and she is making me some very nice body soap out of them. If anyone wants to purchase those to go with their shave soap, it will be available. But my primary passion will be the shave soap. I have enough fat, I should be able to make matching Sheep Fat shave Soap/Beef tallow body soap.

I think we are about 2 weeks out from going live.

We have the packaging, we have the labels, I changed my avatar to my business logo. It's like I'm legit or something. Aside from Facebook and my local co-op, you guys/gals are my target audience. My soap won't be found in the large shave shop resellers. I can't afford it....and frankly, neither would you. But I am counting on the shave community word of mouth to spread. I won't be on B&B for obvious reasons. And I can't get a hotlink for the other site on the FB sales page either. So DFS is it. And if it generates more users for DFS, well that's a good thing. I do owe DFS admin, and members, a debt of gratitude for allowing me to advertise that I need testers and using the body as a test bed to develop this soap. I learned what not to do by watching other soapers. Learned a ton more just to build this soap. No plans to change the base, V1-V35, with associated promotional catch phraseology. No plans for beef tallow based either. Yet. A huge thank you to all the testers that got me this far. Huge.
So when admin flips the switch on my account here to vendor, I will post up the Facebook link for you guys to find this soap.

Congrats! I like the “wedge of cheese” look on the body soaps, that’s cool.
I’d still love to be able to order some of your beef too ;-)
