New SE razor - the Rocnel

Surely one of the virtues of an SE/injector razor is the thicker, stiffer blades, leading to a smoother shave especially for coarse whiskers. Snapping a DE blade in half makes this a lot less interesting to me: at that point, I'd rather just use a DE and get the advantage of both edges.

I tend to agree- $25 for an experiment is pretty low barrier to entry though and worth the novelty in my case.

I tend to agree. What's the point of making an SE razor that takes half a DE blade? It kind of defeats the purpose. I would definitely be on board if it took GEM blades as it is a very attractive stainless steel razor at an amazing price.

It's combining the worst aspects of DE shaving with the worst aspects of SE shaving. I hope people like it, but I will not be going anywhere near this. I have heard a few people complain about how much information was required just to get their order in which they told me felt a little sketchy. Hopefully it's just due to the language barrier.

It's almost worth having just to have it. Almost. It's not for me but I wish them luck. It's certainly attractive enough and the price is unbelievable.

I couldn't resist. I pre-ordered the SE. If nothing else, it is a cheap oddity in my pile of razors. We'll see how it goes.

Why is the makers DE model $295 and the SE model $25? It is using the same materials...

How is it even possible to sell raw 316 stainless steel at this price?!?! Sounds like a money losing venture if for real.

How is it possible to get a stainless steel razor head within a 0.01 mm tolerance? This would make the razor the most precisely made SS razor on the market, any brand!

The website says only 3 razors are personally made a week. What sort of wait list does this imply, and how does anyone live off $75 a week, minus material costs?

Rather than speculating in an almost accusing way...these are probably all questions you can ask him directly.
He is good at answering emails.

I'm not accusing anything, but I do think these are reasonable questions to consider for anyone here that is interested. Open questions like these promote transparency and prevent buyers from potentially being taken advantage of (nothing negative implied here, just doing due diligence).
