Colonial Razors , you have mentioned you plan on making a GEM style SE razor after your current project. Just a suggestion, and something to consider...
I think it would be ideal if the razor could be designed to take both the spined blades (GEM PTFE) and the spineless blades (Feather FHS), without modifications to either blade.
There has been much discussion and debate recently concerning the pros and cons of both blades. The majority of vintage users seem to prefer the GEM, while the majority of new SE users seem to prefer the Feather. (A poll recently taken on TSN for OneBlade users trying both blades shows preference overwhelmingly for the spineless Feather.)
Considering how limited blade choice is anyway for traditional width SE's, a razor that could take both blades natively would satisfy both camps.
Not sure how this could be done, but I have read that the Ever-Ready Streamline can take both blades unmodified.
If a design to take both blades natively is too difficult, I would suggest building for the spineless variant; the reason being is that it is much easier to de-spine a GEM (2 seconds), than it is to have to buy both blades to spine a Feather with a GEM spine.
Just my 2 cents here for your consideration... And I wish you the best of luck on all your efforts!
