I understand that.  But could never figure out why other makers use smooth handles too.

Give who a break?  This isn't a vendor thread, it was a general question and I wasn't attacking the maker directly.

All evidence has been buried.  All tapes have been erased.

Well you kind of did with the remarks after the legitimate question. Is all good Bruce, I know your style, lol.....

Maybe the handle is like the handle on a Wilkinson Sticky. Those are hard to loose a grip on when they get wet yet they are smooth.

Could be. Let's hope so.

Add in the fact that the razor head can accept any of the other handles we all seem to have lying around and it really doesn't matter what handle it comes with. The beauty of these designs is that we can use whatever handle we like best.

I don't get it.

Plus, how much more weight the knurling will remove from an already light razor?

Bruce, I thought it was a valid question asked in a respectful manner. I don't know what the issue is. As long as members are respectful and comply with the forum rules then we are free to discuss the pros and cons of anything we like aren't we? The subject razor is in prototype phase so I think its more helpful to the makers that they get honest feedback than disingenuous praise for the sake of not offending them. Its all fair comment including country of manufacture - imagine their surprise if everyone kept their feelings on that subject to themselves and the product fell flat for that reason. Unpleasant surprise I would imagine. The maker should have as much data as possible to assist them in all facets of the product development/production and marketing.

I like the look of the razor although I'm going on a self-imposed buying hiatus and likely won't be buying any razors this year. I have razors that are made in Asia and some that are made in Canada and the USA - I like them all. I've seen some quality concerns expressed on this forum around some of the Asian made razors but have not seen any complaints about ATT or Wolfman. I personally have had no issues with any of my razors although nothing comes close to the quality look and feel of the Wolfman so far - I have a ATT coming that I purchased under the wire before the end of the year so I haven't actually touched it yet although I have high expectations.

That's my 3 bits worth,
Mark

Knurling shouldn't really remove anything. When knurling the design is expanded up out of the metal stock when on the lathe.

Good point, I forgot about this.

I knurler actually compresses the metal more than it cut's. And you don't want to go too fast or use a knurler that has a lot of wear on it otherwise you will end up with a bad pattern on your metal.
