New SE razor - The General

You guys are a pretty well informed lot so this may very well not be any news - but for those of you who have missed the news about this one here's some info and pictures.

Company: Colonial Razors
Type: SE razor
Material: Aluminum 6061 w/ black, anodized/sandblasted finish.
Manufacturing method: CNC machined
Blade: Feather/Kai SE blades.
Release date: Early 2016
Price: TBD but inital estimates about USD 80-90

The company was founded by Kirk and Kyle Evans (twin brothers) who will initially start with a small batch of 25-50 razors.

Yeah, I like seeing new SE razors coming onto the market

That was my thought as well when I saw it. I like the simple design.
It might be rather appealing to current Mongoose and/or Cobra owners.

That is a good looking razor!

And thanks for the heads up - I have both the Cobra and Mongoose and they take shaving to the next level.

So a new SE that uses the Artist Club blades is good news for everybody.

This will have to be a truly superb shaver to compete with the Mongoose, but I guess there's every chance it will be!

The Standard - Hone 15 handle look. Very nice. Another note according to their FB page the razors are made in their factory in China.

Here is a picture of the top cap and base plate disassembled. The top cap uses a stainless steel M5 x 0.8 mm set screw.

Welcome to the forum. I really like the pin setup for blade alignment. Do you know when these razors will be for sale?

Another razor designed in the USA and then made in China. We need to be making things that we design right here in the good old USA. Not trying to get political just stating a fact. And yes I have worked in machine shops and I know it can happen, and it would mean more jobs for American workers. Ok I'm off my soapbox now.
