The ATT SE1 and SE2 are my favorite razors right now and would like to know how the shave compares to the General (like aggresion, smoothness, etc). Also, what are the preferred blades with the general?

Hey there,

I haven't tried the ATT SE1 and ATT SE2 yet but I'd have to say, if you love those I wouldn't worry about The General. This is no disrespect to the General but from what I understand, the SE1 and SE2 are pretty aggressive. As far as I can tell, The General is probably mid aggressive, and a very medium shaving razor. Now, if you're interested in a daily SE shaver then perhaps The General would be for you, but if you have two top of the line SEs that give an aggressive shave, I wouldn't bother unless you are very curious.

I use Feather Pros with The General.

Am I right about the ATT SE1? Is it pretty aggressive? See cause I was wanting to step my game up in the SE realm eventually and potentially get a Mongoose or an ATT.

EDIT: I didn't want this to make it look like I didn't love The General because I very much do. I just don't want to see you waste your money if you're very happy with the ATT SE1 and SE2.

I find the SE1 to be about a 5/10 in terms of aggresiveness which is very nice for me. The SE2 is slighty more aggresive (with same smoothness) and would rate as a 5.5/10. Both are milder than the ATT R1 if using a kai mild blade (my preferred blade on both) and about on par with the R1 if using the feather pros.

From the comments im seeing, it looks like the general+feather pros would provide a similar shave to the SE1 + kai mild.

If thats correct, i have no regrets in pre-ordering it, as I love the SE1/SE2 + kai mild combo in terms of smoothness and efficiency.

We are going to stock a limited amount of The General (Silver) heads tomorrow for $27.99 + shipping at our website.  One of the best SE deals if you are looking for a smooth single edge razor that works very well with Feather Pros and Supers, depending on your preference.

thanks for the report. I'm actually due to order some AC blades here in the next few days and was wondering what everyone was using these days.

for me, of the 3 types of blades I've tried, they go like this:

feather professional > feather pro guard > feather professional super

the supers were just downright AWFUL for me.
