New Parker Adj. Injector!

In today with 60 blades. Surprised how nice it is and well made.

The Parker shipped with a new blade but I loaded a new one anyway. The first sensation of the razor is the lightness. Seriously next to a Supply Co injector this felt toy like. I have the same feeling about the vintage injector razors I have tried. I dialed the Parker wide open and had little to no blade feel. The angle was very easy to find and maintain. I found the razor to be a smooth shaver. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby but I had to work at catching the little guy. I am sure that my results will improve with use. I will load a Schick Proline to see if that improves the efficiency which I don't expect. f you are looking for a very aggressive razor then I would look elsewhere. If however, you are looking for a smooth reasonably efficient razor that exhibits the characteristics of vintage adjustable injectors at a great price, the Parker Adjustable is worth consideration.

1st outing with the New Parker Adjustable Injector. I had loaded a new Schick Chick blade instead of the one that was pre-loaded as I wanted a known good blade to try the razor out. I set it on 5 and went to town. In a word...................MILD. Set on 5 was mild and at times hard to tell I was making contact and cutting things down. In the end I did get a close drs to BBS shave but I can tell the growth will not be staying at bay as long a usual. I've never used an "M" adjustable so I have nothing other than my "G" injector to compare it to. It's not close to the "G" for efficiency and the "G" is comfortable for me. I may try another shave or 2, or it may go to the BST as I'm pretty sure I'll be grabbing the "G" when I want an Injector shave. Clown Puke soap and the Clown Puke Sorrentino Brush used and topped with Skin Bracer and will hit it with some Acqua Di Gio Profumo. Now some Guatemalan Antiqua Coffee and Pumpkin Pecan bread while perusing the forum. Have a great day DFS !!! Then I used a very steep angle instead of a normal shallow one using a double edge razor. Work very well. So after about an hour my face and neck feels very smooth. I will run through this blade and technique for several more shave before making a final judgement. If this was a very expensive razor it would probably be up on B/S/T.

Yeah, I'm sure I could play with angle (I hate a razor I have to do that for) but figured it could move on to someone that missed the release and may appreciate it more than me. It is VERY well made which for the price surprised me.

I concur Clint with your findings. Well made, light weight and very easy to use. Will it stay? Unfortunately, no. The PAL for me is equal in smoothness, has a bit more weight and actually shaves a bit closer than the Parker.  I’ll be looking to PIF it sometime very soon, perhaps a Christmas PIF here on DFS.

Good write up Bro-ham. I’m not as down on it as you are but, I agree that there are better performing Injectors out there. Saving grace is that it’s new, well made & anyone that likes a smooth and mild shaver will really enjoy this tool. I’ll get a Schick Twin II in there in a day or two and see if it helps the Parker in cutting ability.

Well, the Schick Twin II fit in the Parker Injector without a single hitch. If you ask me, the Twin II is the best injector blade out there, bar none. The Razor next to the Parker is the Gillette Twinjector razor and is my favorite injector razor of all. The blade in the Gillette is the very first blade installed from the keyed pack and is still shaving as if it were brand new, roughly about 20 shaves in with it. Let’s see if the Schick Twin II can put some ooomph into the Parker and make it a more efficient razor while keeping it’s inherently smooth nature. Tomorrow morning for sure......

Maybe do a pass around first before liquidating the razor.
