Suffice to say that the scent is superb and latherability is quite easy (as is damn near every soap with a YaQi synthetic). I am going to state however that at least for me I see no real gain over Icarus or any other Top Tier soap for that matter as regards the actual shave. As I have stated repeatedly before, for me PSF is meaningless as I use a host of cleansers/acids pre & post shave which negate any objective opinion in that regard. I used the same blade for both shaves and in the interim used a soap that I paid a whopping $1.00 for that incredibly gave the same level of quality shave. I will state again ad nauseam that far too many reviewers and their followers are drinking the PSF Kool-Aid and as a result are losing sight of the raison d'etre of shaving soap.Perfectly valid feedback. That said...we all have different skin types, shave equipment, shave styles, water quality, pre and post shave protocols, expectations..etc. The bottom line imo...is that shaving soaps are the ultimate YMMV product. What someone thinks is meh might be spectacular for someone else. The fun...and challenge...is finding those soaps that work best for you. All reviews...as this one does..should begin...”For me......” rather than making global conclusions...
Feedback?
I do disagree with the comment.. “I will state again ad nauseam that far too many reviewers and their followers are drinking the PSF Kool-Aid and as a result are losing sight of the raison d'etre of shaving soap.” That’s your own take for your specific needs. Some of us look at it quite differently for our own needs. There is absolutely no right and wrong. Only what’s right or wrong for you personally.
