can anyone compare the blade feel to a dart?

Feels to me considerably less than the Dart. The Envoy does not feel particularly bladey to me.

Today a shootout between the Envoy and the Game Changer 0.69.

Two pass shave WTG, XTG one side with the Envoy the other with the GC.
First pass
There is certainly more blade feel on the envoy side and on the first pass just a little bit close. I find that the GC glides a bit better as I don’t have to ride the cap.
On the second pass, the result was equivalent on both though I had a smoother ride with the GC.
Post shave, the alum block was only vocal on the Envoy side.
After the shave the envoy side felt a bit soar but nothing to be bothered about.


Now the looks: well the envoy is a thing of beauty. Lovely razor. The slight satin finish makes it way more classy than the high gloss on the GC. Weight, perfect.

Hi all, wrapping up the tests this week I had a final shave with the envoy.

Loaded a feather on it and it performed much better than the rest of the shaves.


Don’t know if it was the blade or the soap (perhaps both) that gave me a better shave. Perhaps I was just getting used to it, too.
The alum block was vocal and I still had some razor burn feel after the shave and a good part of the afternoon, though.
Wrapping things up on my side:
- lovely, lovely razor. One of the nicest modern looking razors out there.
For me:
- It has more blade feel than what I like. That blade feel doesn’t translate to a closer shave.
- Had some red dots, on all my shaves, here and there but most likely because I was not used to the razor.
- You need to ride the cap to get a comfortable shave but I feel that it degrades its cutting performance.
- I felt a bit of drag (more than what I like) most likely because I was riding the cap?
- In comparison to a Fatboy: it feels like a 7-8 while it cuts like a 3 or less.
- with respect to the Gamechanger, more blade feel which doesn’t correlate to a closer shave.

Love the soap. Lovely scent and overall performance.
