Something like what I have to do to get a good shave because of my coarse beard, but only with 100 touch-ups. Big Grin

Just received the Core this afternoon. For those that care the packaging and presentation of the Core exceeded razors I have received costing 3 and 4 times more. Even though the razor is plastic the stainless rod in the handle gives it some heft, really more than I expected. I think one issue for those with the Genesis model will be the balance. All the weight in the Core is in the handle with the razor head seeming almost weightless by comparison. I'll take it for the maiden voyage in the morning.

My take is that the initial negative reports should be data points and not definite.

All the feedback I've seen have been from folks who have the metal version. We need to hear from those who haven't as well. Also, the initial reviews from stainless Oneblade users may change as they adjust to the different dynamics. mantic59 has upgraded his opinion as he's learned how to use it.

I still have high hopes for the being the optimal razor to migrate folks from cartridges to wet shaving. At the price point of the razor, it needs to work well with GEM blades in my view.

Mine was just delivered, will give it a shot tonight. I've been using my SS OneBlade exclusively for more than a year at this point. Will be interesting to see how the Core compares for me.

I am going to be one of those negative guys. Mine arrived this afternoon and is already packed up to be exchanged. Two issues, IMO. One major and one cosmetic.
1) Can't even insert the blade!!! Will not go in. Talked to customer service. Back it goes. 2) Where the plastic attaches to the mold...ugly. Rough, not polished off. Nothing. I am sorry, but I have seen $35 razors that are better polished. Almost sent it back for a refund, but I just received 50 Feather SE blades from Japan.  Angry I should have resisted, but the entry price was too attractive. The replacement better be perfect, or back it goes too. This time for a refund.

So many pissing on the Core!!! Give it a try first!

Naturally those who own the SS version will see the Core as a toy...not so much for the rest who want to try the technology and haven't the budget for the SS.

Calm yourselves...

Arrived at the office in downtown Boston today.
Relabeled and ready to go in the outgoing mail for the price of a coffee.
Too many bad first impressions. Not worth opening the box.

Total relief that's over.

Receiving a razor that won't accept the blade means that a defective unit was sent. Hopefully, there won't be a lot of those.

Personally, I wouldn't expect the lines from the mould to be removed. The cost of this razor is due to the R&D that went into building a razor that delivers a skill free BBS every time.

Having said that, $50 is a lot of money for a plastic resin razor and it will have to deliver said shaving experience to do well in the market. $50 will get a smokin hot Merkur 38HD or a Muhle R41 razor head and a Maggard's handle.

Decided to take the refund, rather than the replacement. Know anybody who wants to buy 50 Feather SE Blades?
