Given the quality of shave available at similar price point from razors like the Rockwell 6c, Supply SE, Hawk etc., the review strikes me as underwhelming, particularly given the cost of the dedicated blades. Appreciate the initial review.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I am looking forward to receiving the Core and giving it a go myself.

Thanks for posting mantic59.

This may just be a case where those who have never tried the SS OneBlade V1 or 2 may be happier as a whole with the CORE than those who have used the SS version.  Will be interesting to see more opinions as they role out between the two groups.

For some reason, I simply cannot get excited about this razor and mantic59's lukewarm thoughts didn't inspire curiosity, either.  Who knows, though.  Never say never.

One other thought, the despining of a GEM blade. Yes it's quite easy to do; I've done it. However, I don't want to bother with it. Rather, I just want to get a blade in a razor cleanly and simply. Perhaps, had the One Blade CORE been made with the unmodified GEM SE blades in mind, rather than the Feathers, I might have shown a bit more interest.

Easy solution if you think you won't like the Oneblade Core razor(without trying it?) you can always get one of the new Gem type razors that are about to hit the market.

Jerry, my point was that I don't need the CORE, or any other razor for that matter.  However, if something intrigues me, if there are great reviews of both the product and the company's business practices, if it is something that will complement my collection of, in this case, razors then, yes, I would consider it.  Not one of those proves true here as far as I'm concerned.  I'm not saying I won't change my mind if some compelling news about it comes but, unless that happens, I can walk away.  By the way, these thoughts hold the same for what I'm seeing with the new Roncel GEM SE type razor and I have pretty much stated that.  It's okay for others to think differently and disagree with me as these are just my thoughts and I realize that not everyone will feel the same. Thanks for the video, mantic59 I frankly ordered one because I enjoy my OneBlade v1, and wanted one for travel. Looking forward to shaving with it.

Given all the history with OneBlade, I completely understand what you are saying. I think there is a good place in the market for this razor, though not for experienced classic shavers that get good results with other razors. After all, you can get a nice Merkur 38HD or similar razor for the same cost as this plastic razor.

I think it will be a great back-up / travel option for those who have the metal OneBlade and love it. As well, those who have been on the fence about the OneBlade can try this for less money. This will be an awesome and economical way for folks to transition from cartridges.

Well, for the price and getting confirmation that the GEM blades are compatible with this razor, I succumbed and bought one. Blush
