I'm not too sure if I'm going to pick up the latest offering from Oneblade but they continue to impress me. The communication was open and up front. if you own a Oneblade this is not version 3. Bravo for coming out the gate with that. I own one, so if I'm looking for version 3 this isn't it. Most would casually side step the discussion, but Oneblade embraced the response. Second, they said who it was directed at; those who wanted the Oneblade experience but would not fork over $400. Lastly, pretty up front about the materials, it's plastic with a metal rod. If plastic isn't your thing than move along. No hyper selling ( well not anymore than usual), this is me, a plastic Oneblade, love me or leave me. I may just leave it, but not without plucking on my curiosity strings.

I'm curious about it too. My V1 works just fine. I would pick up one of these for a travel razor or gift it to my son but only if it will work with GEM blades. $50 isn't a big risk though so I may just go ahead and order one.

Yes, vtmax , at the beginning that was exactly their strategy. But amongst the drawbacks in this razor that may not make so suitable for that very particular market, a very important one is that you can't travel by plane and with only hand luggage with a OB and its blades. In that circumstance you will have to revert to a multiblade cartridge, and there's a chance that you find out that the multiblade cartridge, be it a Mach 3 or the Wilkinson of your preference, works really well, so... you may wonder if the OB is really worth the hassle. This razor would have sold much better if from the beginning they targeted the people they're targeting now.

I'll wait for the reviews before I purchase mine. It won't bother me if they're sold out by then because I'm doing pretty well with the razors I own so far. They'll manufacture more if the experiment goes well, or I would, if I were in their shoes.

I won't be buying one, but look forward to reading reviews. I still have to wait on the ATT G1 that my wife was not happy about. Smile

Another thing that somehow bothers me is the fact that they're offering this "entry level" razor now, and not from the beginning. Perhaps it has to do with low sales, but if they deliberately looked down on the average wet shaver and targeted the "high end" user, unsuccessfully... would I be buying their product now?.

I'll have to think it twice, I guess.

While this razor may not be technically allowed in your carry on bag I myself have been traveling with an injector razor in mine for many years.....so it might be possible.

since we don't have any hard data, we can only assume that the razor wasn't selling as well as they had hoped. but then again, only targeting the high end users was probably the wrong way to enter the market. had they had both their new polymer razor PLUS the stainless one, there'd probably be A LOT more chatter about their razor from all economic realms of the wet shaving crowd.

Dinder1 , My thought is that the razor can be carried in your hand luggage, no problem. It's the blades that will trigger the alarm and you will get them confiscated. It surprises me that you made it through the security check with a pack of injector blades. Perhaps it didn't look like a blade pack through the X-rays, but if I'm not mistaken, those shouldn't be allowed on board planes... heck, I got my tiny scissors confiscated at Heathrow. They were the typical travel bag scissors we use for hair trimming, and with a round tip.

andrewjs18 I agree that we are speculating by assuming that their sales were low, but this you say is exactly my point. Had they offered an entry level OB from the beginning, it would have sold like hot cake, but who knows if they just didn't have the resources to do so. The fact is that the new razor is there and I'll keep a watchful eye on it.

On the one hand, I am so tempted.  On the other, I keep thinking about that quality control and customer service.  Am I tempted by the CORE? Yes.  Do I have my doubts?  Yes, big time.  Will I get it?  I simply do not know.  As of this post, I have not gone for it. Sad
