What you did was to make them aware of a really great option, one they probably did not know even existed. That real world connection is so important. Just curious but do you ever sell at other craft fairs, such as at local universities or Christmas fairs? With your approach, it is certain you would be a big hit. What you put in post #10 says volumes. Not only do you sell wetshaving products, you also inform and educate your clientele, and also guide them to what would be best for an initial purchase. Very well done! IMHO, giving customers a printout of shaving and gear tips is a nice touch.
1. A respectable number of current wetshavers (I didn't realize exactly how many there were!)
2. Modern cartridge and foam shavers
3. "Shave Club" members
4. and of course, holiday shopping wives and daughters
What I was most impressed with was the amount of time that #s 2 and 3 spent talking to us, and ultimately, purchasing complete setups (razor, blades, brush, bowl, soap and aftershave)
Anyways, congratulations on your success, and your happy customers. Thanks to you, there are plenty of folks for whom shaving will forever more be a pleasure rather than a chore. Now there is a great Christmas present!
Tbone, Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words! It is so great helping people out and turning them on to something that will benefit them as well as give them a but of fun! It makes us happy to be able to do so!
Also, yes, we are lining up events for 2016 with the various towns in our area. We have our vendor tent, tables, displays, etc all redy to go and take it on the road! We will introduce as many people to the world of traditional wetshaving as we possibly can!
Thanks again!!!
