I like the slim design!

Extremely pleased with these production samples. We were able to smooth out the top cap significantly and the base plates are shockingly good. In hand it's incredible to know that these were printed because it feels every bit as good as machined. The weight, tolerances, and overall feel is indistinguishable from CNC which is the goal. Close inspection tells you that it was printed which is awesome, too. These are the perfect parts we've been working toward for the last 1.5 years so it's a huge win to get this finalized.

Regarding the thinness of the head, it is indeed quite thin. This serves a couple purposes. Pragmatically, with additive manufacturing the less material you have to add to a part the more cost effective it is so keeping it thin helps reduce overall material and costs. Additionally, cost efficiency rises when we fill the build volume with as many parts as possible. The base plates are actually designed to stack on top of each other for this reason. And, finally, I like thin, minimal heads as evidenced by basically every razor I've ever made.

Yes! I love thin and nimble as well. I hope I didn’t come off as critical.

This project is so impressive.

Definitely didn't take it that way. And thanks!

Apologies if I’ve missed it but will black be the only color? Is it a coating of some sort? Most black razors that I’ve tried visually accumulate soap scum. Not to say that others don’t but black is very contrasting to the white film of soap. I know this is just a clean it daily answer type of thing, just wondering. Thanks

Black only for now. I guess the good thing about black is that it makes you aware of all the scum building up on your razor. That scum is still there regardless of the color so maybe having it visible is a good reminder that it's time to clean. Easy to wipe down with a damp cloth or soft-bristled brush.

The undercut on photo 2 is really cool. That caught my eye! Looking forward to hearing the first impressions of people once they shave with these.

Blackland Razors Congratulations on those samples! I saw the FB post/story (whatever that movie thing is!) and thought Wow, those look cool! I may try to be in on the "drop" but no worries if I miss the first release as I will be getting one with several plates. Again, Well Done!
