Seems there's a lot of folks interested and a fair share of worry in it selling out. I absolutely hope it's that big of a hit for you. It definitely strikes me as the next big thing.
Thanks for watching! It’s less a worry and more an attempt to reduce my future headache by lowering expectations a bit now. Unless something crazy happens, we will sell out. Hopefully not in minutes or hours, but it’s pretty certain to happen. In month two it will be less likely. In month three even less so. This is like the soft launch of a restaurant where we have 25% capacity to work through the kinks. So I’m not at all trying to avoid selling out in that first month. It’s all about biting off only what we can chew and ensuring we can handle it. Then we’ll deal with actually meeting demand.
I listened to the Lather Talk podcast-I find the video podcasts difficult to watch while driving!! Good job and very interesting. I’m always interested in hearing people’s journeys. There’s been a consistent thread I’ve noticed in several of these podcasts and that’s the risks of being drawn down (the wrong) rabbit holes by the raucous cries of a very vocal minority. This can lead to wasteful investment of time and resources in projects with very limited appeal-as you said, the 12 people interested in that. As a one man show, time spent on one thing means you’re not spending time on other things that have broader appeal. This can be disastrous. We see this phenomenon in government too with some pretty bizarre outcomes. Keep up the great work Shane.
