Great review and pictures Clint. Hopefully mine will look as nice as yours but first I have to receive it which appears to be a challenge. When I get it I will shart with a Pro Super. Best of luck and happy shaving.

Thank you.  I hope USPS delivers your razor soon.
Mine is coming UPS

wish it had more of a recess/space between the knurling and the top of the handle like the original, that way the knurling is "isolated" on both sides. it's subtle but it makes a big difference visually. this one just doesn't look as good as the original IMO

Asylum Rx V2
Schick Proline
Simpson CH2 Synthetic
Mitchell’s Wool Fat
Proraso Red Aftershave

I received the new Asylum Rx yesterday and given my complete lack of patience, I took it for a spin this morning.  Loading the blade into this 3 piece razor is a bit fiddly at best.  At least the lockup is solid once everything in tightened down.  I have never tried the Proline AC blades so I ordered some along with the razor.  Unlike some of the other photos, my razor had no blemishes and was finished exceptionally well.  I did wash the razor and noticed some of the buffing compound came off during the wash.  No big deal to me but I thought I should not it.  I currently have the General V1 in brass and the Cobra Classic.  The feel of the razor during use is much closer to the Cobra Classic.  The shave this morning was relatively smooth.  I think it will get better over the next few uses as I master the razor.  However, the shave was not mindless at all.  I had a couple of operator induced nicks and weepers.  Maybe in the future the Asylum Rx will be an auto pilot shave but not now.  I wanted a razor that felt like the Cobra but with a more solid feel and lock up.  The Asylum ticked the boxes for me.  I will keep using it and pull out some other AC blades to try as well.

Don't be surprised if the culprit is a bad Proline blade. I have had a few, it's not as uncommon as the other brands. They aren't my favourites, but they normally are fine with most razors. The cutouts are odd and that has given me the most trouble with alignment, won't use them in certain razors.
