I have thought about how to present this thread for some time. It is kind of negative so that makes it tricky. I am interested to know if some of you have negative marketing predilections (rational or otherwise) which prevent you from buying certain types of shave products or transact with certain merchants.
I have many, and they may be somewhat irrational. I am curious to see if I am the only one who thinks this way. Let's leave vendor names out of this if possible. Here are mine:
i) I will not purchase products that under perform and are over priced. Once I experience this with any vendor I am done with them.
ii) I will not support any merchant who insults me as part of a class of purchasers or lectures to me about politics, social structures, the environment, etc.
iii) I will not buy any products that have "death" or "evil" as a marketing theme, e.g. demonic images, products will skulls/skeletons on them or which reference mass suffering or something perverse. Also, any product with a super "cutesy" name or a name that is too clever by half so that you have no idea what the product does, or what its principle quality or nature is.
iv) I will not purchase any products from a vendor who has a shady past, e.g. used unscrupulous marketing techniques, had very bad customer relations, etc. even if now they make good products and are otherwise reputable merchants.
v) Any products that have gone through some massive reformulation, e.g. tallow to vegetable base.
vi) Any aftershave with glycerine (makes face sticky).
There are others but this is a good start. As you can see, there is very little left that I can buy!
I do have a list of what I like but that will have to wait for another thread.
