I've always had a challenge lathering Mystic Water soap and I've tried several times over the years. Their scents are intoxicating and celestino just spoke so highly about them that I figured there had to be something there.

I also was having trouble lathering B&M Reserve soaps and then last year I watched this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqfUvqLxOy8

I paid attention and presto, I was able to lather Reserve. I switched from face lathering to bowl lathering and incorporated water in the manner that Will demonstrates in the video. The technique improved the lather of pretty much all my soaps. So last week I was rummaging through my box of unloved soaps - you know, hmm, why is this soap in here? Oh right..... In any case I pulled out some Mystic Water soaps Adirondack Jack, Windjammer, Marrakech and a couple of others. I never got rid of them because hope springs eternal Smile I applied the B&M Reserve technique and dang, wouldn't you know it, the lather was wonderful. I've shaved three times with Mystic Water since then and its going to be in my permanent rotation. Finally.

Thanks celestino for keeping the brand front and centre. Happy2

I haven't had great results with MW when starting with a really wet brush, but now I want to try it again and see how it goes!

Just used Orange Vanilla today and it was fantastic. Glad you could rediscover some gems.

I found simply blooming MW soaps and using a synthetic brush results in great lathers. I've never tried the method in the video but might give it try just to see how it performs compared to the blooming method.

You can also try Donald Youngers technique. Full white lava lather in 60 seconds.

Thanks for asking Marko:  Cedar & Sage, Gardenia, Sweet Briar (Pipe Tobacco), and Windjammer.  Her prices are so reasonable, and I'm happy to PIF anything on the off chance that it works that badly for me.
